In one week our family will be on this ship…

I honestly still can’t believe it’s real. This will be our first cruise with the kids and they are beyond excited.

And I am extremely thankful for SeneGence for providing me the opportunity to treat my family to this experience. Yes, you heard that correctly…this entire cruise from flights to excursions to souvenirs is MY TREAT—paid for totally by my little side gig. That was my main goal when I started doing this 2-1/2 years ago—totally a pipe dream and little did I know that the business would take off and I would be having so much fun and earning enough to spoil my family like this.

SeneGence has also totally changed my self confidence, changed my look, given me a whole new set of friends, and showed my kids that when you set goals anything can happen!

Happy Halloween y’all from your Queen!

Happy Halloween! I had to get dressed early today because no one will be here this afternoon to help me zip into this dress and I have to be at Katie‘s school Halloween party at 1!! 😂

I also decided to have a little bit of fun with my eye make up today. It’s way outside my comfort zone (so I have more shadow on today than I normally do all week combined) but I think it turned out pretty well for not knowing what the hell I’m doing.

Blackberry v2019

Which year wore it better? 😂

I thought I looked GREAT that day in 2017, wearing crazy Blackberry LipSense. But looking back, I definitely needed more makeup to complete the look. But I wasn’t wearing ANY eye makeup (I never wore eye makeup), my brows weren’t done (and they were also way overplucked), and my skin looked so pale (but even back then I still wore Medium CCTM).

So I wanted a redo on Blackberry today (because Halloween) and I decided to top it with Clover Gloss because I hadn’t used Clover in a long time. Holy crap y’all. It was legit green when I put it on. It calmed down a little bit but this is so much fun.

When it was time to re-gloss I figured why not do another fun color? This time I pulled out the Blue Orchid Gloss! 💙

I’m honestly not sure which one I like better.

So this may sound silly but for someone who was never taught how to wear makeup, seeing a difference in my application results is a big deal.

Date night post-dinner Legion drinks

There’s nothing like topping off a date night with friends than stopping at the local Legion for a cheap drink. We had three drinks for $11 plus I got an eyeball!

Imagine my surprise to see a Grayling plate on the wall. Now I want to visit Grayling’s legion to find the Gurnee plate. (I had to search out the manager to figure out how they got the plates. He said they traded them.)

NOTE: I talked to my contact at the Grayling Legion and she said they removed all the plates during renovation and they haven’t gone back up.

Halloween 2019

I got a new tiara… It’s for my Halloween costume, but still. Also, I obviously decided to dress up this year. Practice for this week when I am volunteering in Katie’s classroom for her party. It’s supposed to rain buckets today so fingers are crossed it holds off a bit.

Mal (from Disney’s Descendants) and Ash Ketchum (a Pokémon trainer).

(It ended up training right after we started out. We had umbrellas but the kids didn’t care. But they did tire more quickly and we only stayed out about an hour and a half.)

Our cruise shirts are done!

As soon as I knew we were going on a cruise, I knew I wanted to make personalized T-shirts for all of us…thus begin the search on Amazon and Etsy and eBay… betsy was the winner with the best choices but I knew that I wanted to create my own with our names or initials (or something) and not just buy a generic one. So then I managed to find a friend with a cutting machine who volunteered her machine and her services…

It was actually quite a long drawn out process because she had really not done many T-shirts before and I had never done T-shirts before and it was literally just a comedy of errors but we had a great time working on them together.

So without further ado…

They are all the same on the front but the kids have a warning on the back of theirs and Tom and I have a similar warning on the back of ours. (My dad and stepmom escaped warnings on their shirts.) I figured we are literally only going to be wearing the shirts for a few hours on debarkation day so it really didn’t matter what we put on them…and we thought it was hilarious.

The sidenote to this whole story is that Tom and I are now the proud owners of a Cricut Maker and a crap ton of accessories. I had thought about getting one of these machines in the past but knew I would literally go down a huge rabbit hole of projects and expenses so I always passed. So when this came up Tom asked me again if I wanted to get one because he wouldn’t mind having one in the future for some of his projects…so many hours of research later (and YouTube videos and reviews watched and debating the merits of the different machines and getting input from friends)… we decided on one. So stay tuned for many projects!!

Check out my Halloween mask!

So as you now know, I had the Santa discussion with Owen this morning before school and my heart is currently broken. 💔 So, I needed to do something to take my mind off of that. It was either retail therapy…or makeup therapy. So in trying to conserve a little bit of money, I tried makeup therapy…copying something I’ve seen others do. So here’s my mask, done completely with SeneGence makeup!

It’s sooo not perfect but it’s way better than I thought it would turn out. (I learned there’s a very fine line between just pulling face fat and making it look like a mask. 😂) Also? If you squint just a bit, it looks even more mask-like.

What do y’all think? I’m not quitting my day job that’s for sure… 🥁

I was actually surprised by how many people thought it was a real mask! And this comment from my Sene-crush Siara made my day:

Let’s sell some magic lipstick!

Today was a busy day–I’ve been up since 5am!—but I did it in style in my tiara!! 😛

I had a vendor event (the same one I did two years ago) so I wore a little more makeup than normal… But what once might have taken me an hour only took me about 20 minutes!! 🙌🏻 And oh my gawd I forgot how amazing Brick is!! 💕‼️

Here’s everything I used in my look:

I didn’t have my tiara on for the first round of pics…so I had to take more! (By the way, lots of people loved it and commented on it. So get yourselves a tiara, ladies! It’s fun!)

The event was fun and I couldn’t have done it without help from my friend (and customer!) Heidi—we really make a great team! I also met some great ladies (they like margaritas, too so there may be some parties happening in the near future).

Before we knew it the event was over and time to pack up! Tom picked me up and we went to grab a drink to celebrate!

Fast forward to getting ready for bed at 11:30pm…

‼️ I’m not kidding when I say this stuff lasts all day.

I’m finally ready for bed so it’s time to check my before and after comparison pics. I really gave my makeup a workout today—17 hours. The only thing really bad are my lips, but I did spend most of the day proving they were smudge-proof (rubbing them and applying gloss like a boss) and I stopped glossing about 4pm. 🙌🏻 If I had done a quick color fix then, it would still be going strong. But still, not too bad for 17 freaking hours!

Bleached ends be gone!!

So I did a thing.

I was finally ready to cut off all the bleached ends to get my hair healthy again—plus I’ve decided to stop coloring the purple… I love the purple, but I’ve decided to spend some of that money on my nails instead. 😜

Before:

After:

So I like it and it definitely feels healthier…but holy wah does it feel short!! It always surprises me how quickly simply cutting 4″ off the ends turns into 6″ or more once all the trimming and futzing is done.

I kinda feel more like an adult now (not sure if that’s good or bad 😂) but I also feel like I’m about 4-5 years younger because it’s been about that long since my hair was this short.

Also, I do love it straight but I actually can’t wait to wear it AS IS because it looked really cute… Stay tuned!
