Red Rose and prosecco? Yes, please!

She’s eating and drinking and able to get in her window bed above the couch with no issues! She’s still sleepy but honestly this is normal. I don’t think I’m going to give her pain meds today—or if I do, it will be a half dose…

Over the weekend we noticed she started peeing randomly or couldn’t hold it plus it looked to have blood in it. Of course it was just late enough that the regular vet was closed for the weekend… We googled and it sounded like a UTI (not enough of an emergency to take her to the emergency vet) so we bought pee pads and covered all the furniture and crossed our fingers. (She’s the one with kidney issues plus she’s 16 so I’m always afraid every little thing is going to be THE thing that needs the big decision. Of course it could turn out to be the simple thing but it’s all I can think about.)

We watched her like a hawk all weekend. Also? Turns out the kid pee pads we had aren’t cat proof. Or are for minor accidents. Which means we washed couch cushions and cat beds and lots of towels and had to make a trip to buy real pee pads.

I took her in this morning and…today isn’t THE day but she’s getting bloodwork and coming home with antibiotics and pain meds. The doc said this is really just likely a minor issue. She said she knows what I’m thinking and that she would definitely tell me if she thought it was time. And she made sure to tell me NOT YET. And to watch the pain.
The doc says it’s hard to tell with a cat with renal issues if it’s a UTI. It could be a tumor or who knows what. Plus her bladder is hard (or something?) which could be the result of a lingering infection which only recently showed up with the new symptoms.

And the pain drugs made her really woozy and she couldn’t walk and even fell off the couch while trying to get down (I didn’t realize how woozy she really was so I feel horrible) then she fell over while trying to drink. If the vet hadn’t warned me I’d think she was at deaths door…but it’s still hard to watch.

Friends invited us to go to this school benefit that they have had great fun at at the past few years. I had high hopes but it was honestly way too many people for me. And the margaritas were tasty but they were seven bucks each which was way too much.

When you get the chance to grab a free breathalyzer from Amazon Vine, of course you do it. So we invited our friends over to test it out.

Needless to say hijinx ensued…along with a drunken Facebook live. Good times.

For like a minute or two. I’m guessing it has something to do with getting older (she’s 14)…?

She eventually does settle in. Love this girl.

And the one who best puts up with me taking pictures.

Owen invited four friends over and they pretty much holed up in the basement and the only time I saw them was at dinner and snapped this one photo.

One friend couldn’t make it but his dad brought me over a gift…It’s like he knows me or something.

She’s an amazing reader but trying to get her to do her daily 20 minutes of reading homework is worse than pulling teeth. But today she finally finished Harry Potter!

Bella got in it right away but Charlie wants to get in it. So we have a standoff!

They’re both waiting for better food to magically appear in their bowls. They’ve been like this for minutes. Do your animals do this? I think mine are just old and picky (cat is 16, dog is 14).

Anna and I ate lunch at our favorite restaurant today (Primo) and she just loves this deer so we took a pic with it today.

Owen’s birthday is coming up next week so I thought I’d make this awesome shirt I saw on Etsy. I only had one snafu but on the bright side I learned how to do something. Do you see it?

I posted this pic on Facebook and a friend pointed out that seconds and minutes were in the wrong order. Gahhhhhhhh!! So I learned how to remove vinyl…

And then printed more text and fixed it.

P.S. If you’ve thought about getting the Cricut heat press, do it. It’s soooo worth it.
I don’t know how they ever noticed themselves but they are there!

She still doesn’t like her wet food so once in awhile she tries for human food. Today it was animal crackers.

Okay I’ll play along with the #dollypartonchallenge—the sad thing is I really didn’t have any good “business attire” photos for Linked In or Tinder-esque photos of the 8,590 pics on my phone. How is that even possible?! Oh yeah, I’m a SAHM who never really needs to wear business clothes and I don’t need pics for trying to find a date or hookup. (And the pics I have for my husband I certainly am not sharing on social media! 😂)

After three years away from lessons, she leveled up after just a handful of lessons!

A Facebook memory popped up that three years ago my kids were at British Swim School in Woodbridge, VA. Guess where they are tonight? 🏊♀️🏊🏻♂️

Maggie’s old but she still has spurts of energy…and she loves her chickens.

Owen took part in his first Pinewood Derby today! He and Tom have been working on his car for two weeks on and off and he was super excited! And he ended up winning third place in his pack!

Look at that happy face!!

Ahhhh. Margaritas. Casa Bonita with friends for Parents Night Out. This pitcher was Jalapeño Cilantro and they were delicious. Pomaritas came later.
