Normally I don’t let her because it’s curly and brushing it would be disastrous…but today it was straight so I let her at it.

This would have been Owenisms 59 & Katieisms 12…but it seems silly to keep separating them…so with the new year, they are now OKisms. 🙂
Owen: Mom, I love you so much I’d even kiss your eyeball.
Owen was playing with Katie.
WATCH OUT! I’m Lord Voldemort and I will electricery you!
Katie: I want an apple.
I start to grab an apple but she sees the onion on the counter.
Katie: That’s not an apple.
Me: I know. I have the apple here.
Katie: Good. I don’t want to eat that [the onion].
Owen accidentally pushed Katie over.
Owen: I’m sorry Katie.
Katie: You can’t do that! It’s rude!
Owen, while putting together Legos with Harry Potter on in the background.
It’s not lev-i-OH-sah it’s lev-i-oh-SAH!
Katie was playing with a tiny fairy she has.
I can’t carry you today because my back hurts.
(Can you tell I’ve said that a few times?)
Owen: Mom, I don’t like this puzzle.
Me: Why not?
Owen: I don’t know where the pieces go.
Katie loves having her toenails painted and I’ve been promising to do them. She came to visit me as I getting out of the shower, so I figured it was a good a time as any. I sit her on the counter and tell her no wiggling.
“NO wiggling, mama. I no wiggling.” 🙂
Then Owen came up and wanted his done, too. He’s actually been talking about it ever since I got nail polish in my stocking and he liked the silver glitter polish. I sent him downstairs to find it but he couldn’t, so he said “pink like yours” was good.
Afterwards he asked if it rubbed off. Nope, buddy, it takes special chemicals. You could see his brain working but he didn’t say anything so it must have been okay.
Picking out our first cleaner shrimp, hermit crab, and Astrea snail!
Looking at the birdies.
Katie: He’s tweeting!
Katie: I’m a princess!
Owen: And I’m a prince! Let’s marry!
And then he leaned over and kissed her and held her hand. 🙂 To his credit, he did say he was her brother so they couldn’t really get married. 🙂
Owen’s front tooth is SOOOO loose that we keep telling him to just pull it out. At dinner we talked about how the Tooth Fairy doesn’t pay for teeth that fall out and can’t be found (like if he accidentally swallowed it). I told him I would match what the Tooth Fairy gave him last time if he pulled it out tonight. Uncle Rob promised him FIVE dollars if it came out tonight. Owen REALLY wanted the $5, but as it turns out, he didn’t want it bad enough to pull put his tooth.
Of course she was saying it without prompting before I started recording…but damn this is cute.
I had put all my hair in a clip on top of my head just to get it out of the way.
Katie, noticing it: WOW!! You have crazy hair!
Katie: Mom, I have something to tell you. She touches my slippers. I love your shoes. She touches my sweater. I love your coat. She touches my hair. I love your hair.
Katie and I were grocery shopping. As we were walking to the checkout, she got excited:
Katie: Mama! Potions!
Me: What?
Katie, pointing: Potions!
Me: Looking…looking… AHA!
Thank you, Sofia the First!
Katie’s version of Christmas favorites.
Katie LOVES cutting and if I don’t keep an eye on her, she’ll end up at the table cutting any paper she can get her hands on. Fortunately, she’s not half bad. 🙂
Tom took Katie out running errands and found this at the woodworking store.
Tom wanted to take Owen to see Big Hero 6 and wondered if he should try taking Katie. I thought it was worth a try since she can sit still through movies at home…but I said I’d go shopping nearby in case things went south and he needed me to retrieve her. Of course I would be sad to miss being there for her first movie…but I got to do Owen’s first movie so it was only right that Tom get to do Katie’s!
She understood she was going to see a movie and on the way there this is all we heard:
“Movie. Movie. Movie. Movie. Movie. Movie. Movie. Movie.”
Once there she was having NONE OF IT while I was trying to take a picture. 🙂
Unfortunately the movie times had changed in the three days since we last checked, so Tom had an hour to kill at the mall. He said it went okay, and then I got these pics:
Tom said Katie was great for the majority of the movie—only getting fidgety towards the end (which is really good since it was almost two hours long!).
So it was a success! Yay Katie!
I’m pretty sure baby Suki is from a Doc McStuffins episode. 🙂
We were downstairs coloring a welcome sign for Grannie and Papa when Katie pulled out her peekaboo bear…and the excitement began. Holy cow.
Me: Hi Magga-doodles!
Katie: Hi Maggie-noonoos!
Tom: Katie, do you like your new chair?
Katie: Yes! It’s nice and comfortable!
While watching commercials.
Owen: Katie, do you want that?
Katie: Of course, of course! I want that!
It’s starting already… There was a loud noise from the kitchen.
Me: Katie, what are you doing?
Katie: Nothing!
When we put Katie to bed, we say goodnight to everyone. Goodnight Owen, goodnight mama, goodnight Maggie, etc. Tonight?
Tom: Goodnight Owen.
Katie: Goodnight Owen.
Tom: Goodnight mama.
Katie: Goodnight mama.
As they walk away:
Katie: Goodnight everyone!
