This year is definitely a bit different than t-ball…instead of three innings where everyone in the roster bats for each inning and most of the kids are watching the sky or picking grass…they keep track of balls/strikes/outs so kids might only get to bat once or twice but these kids can actually bat, catch, throw, and field!! And some are really good!

She suckered him into watching The Princess and the Frog. 🙂
Of course, we knew that they were coming, but we didn’t tell the kids…so when we came home from baseball this morning, this is what happened:

Owen’s class read a poem at Morning Program today.

Owen’s class earned a PJ and movie day with their Boosterthon pledges and today was that day. They were also allowed to bring a blanket or a stuffed animal.
He’s not actually a baby anymore but he’s still super cute and cuddly.
I think so. 🙂
My prayers have been answered! I got an email Tuesday night saying they now have room for her in the peer modeling program! It’s only two afternoons a week (12:40-4) but that’s seven hours of sanity I get back every week! 🙂 Today we went in to meet the head teacher (love her!) and see Katie’s room. Katie made herself right at home—took her jacket off and started playing! It was the end of their morning, though, so it was actually time to put toys away and she jumped right in and helped! They told me she could actually stay for the afternoon if we wanted but we already had plans to meet friends at the park. (Dang!)
Katie had been very concerned that we had forgotten her backpack but I assured her we didn’t need it today and we’d have it ready for Monday. (She has decided she’ll use Owen’s old Minions backpack!)
The only downsides are that she’s supposed to have lunch and a snack there so that’s another lunch and snack I have to prep. (She could eat the school lunch but A) I don’t see that happening and B) I’m not paying $3/day for that—I won’t even do it for Owen.) She could eat at home beforehand, but then what’s she supposed to do while everyone is eating lunch? (Worst case I guess I could do two snacks. I mean, she loves snacks so that might be a bonus for her.) And of course I have to drop her off and pick her up (actual students have their own bus) but even so, I don’t have to physically go into he classroom—they meet us on the curb. Woohoo!
Needless to say we’re all very, very excited!!
I don’t generally go to the bus stop anymore but sometimes Katie really wants to go. So I took advantage of the natural light to get a good picture. I wanted both of them together but Katie was running off to play (you can see her coat on the left).
Of course she did NOT want to take a nap but then this happened.

– 3 seconds later –

And I just don’t even answer because I’ve already answered her 13 times an hour ago.
I had to return something and pick up a few things I forgot. And then this happened.
“Mom! I need something to lay on!”
And I actually just happened to be reaching for some non-boxed tissues. 🙂
OMG! Can you even?!
I wanted to try on some shoes at Nordstrom Rack and Katie was trying them on right along with me. Of course most of the ones she picked I was afraid she as going to break her neck…
…so I finally convinced her to at least try on flatter shoes. 🙂
Owen finally got out his Spirograph that he got for Christmas. His first reaction? WHOA. THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME.
He couldn’t believe it when Tom and I both told him we’d spent countless hours drawing on it as kids. I just hope he stays interested for more than a few days.
The kids woke me up to tell me there were ants all over the floor. I was a bit groggy, but…WHAT?!
Yep, they were right.
I have NO idea how pieces of Maggie’s food got over there or why all the ants suddenly bombarded us (it seems there are always random bits of food somewhere and we’ve never had ants yet) so out came the Taro.
I went to put her to bed and found this on her floor. 🙂
This is the run of messages I got today. The blue shirt business is because I took a stained blue polo of his and attempted another bag (like the tee I transformed the other day).
And he just giggles and giggles when he’s texting me. 🙂
