I just put some makeup on for the day since I’m about ready to go meet a neighbor! For as much as I love the crazy colors and am feeling more comfortable in them, my heart still lies with the naturals…

So this might be a little bit much for two play dates at the park today but I wanted to wear my blue Lularoe cardigan so I wanted to try matching my eyes just because I’ve gotten a little too complacent wearing the same exact colors every single day. I also added the tiniest bit of Medium CCTM because my face is getting a slightly bit darker even though I’m staying out of the sun as much as possible.
I took the pics a little later than normal and my birch trees were starting to be a little shadow-y. So then I just did it in my bathroom so you could maybe see the shadows better.
Anyhoo, the Garnet definitely looks darker in person. And though I have been enjoying not wearing LipSense as much…my face does look kinda naked without it. 😂
First, home demo. (Masks off for a pic!)
I finished my look after Angel left… I forget how good Mirage is. And Cinnamon Shimmer.
Second, a visit with a friend/playdate for the kids.
Third, an unexpected driveway visit with the people who are living in our old rental house (I was dropping off some stuff were accidentally moved that belonged to the owners).
Fourth, an unexpected trip to our park to visit with Hannah, a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time. (The kids went down there randomly and were surprised to see their friends who don’t live in this neighborhood!)
Fifth. Bag collection, sorting, and folding by the kids. They didn’t love it. Didn’t care. It was something they could do.
It’s cramped from things still being unpacked (any flat surface attracts crap!) and the lighting is awful (I love the lamp but it’s more of a nightlight not a work light)…but at least I’m set up for the day!!
On another note, it’s already a Monday. 😒 Kids. 🤬
My vanity is easily 5x the size it was before but I’m having problems figuring out where to put everything. It’s overwhelming to have more storage!! It will get figured out in time.
Because look at this hot mess kitchen…lots yet to be unpacked and put away but the margarita glasses are already at home in the bar. I’ve always said I have a lot of kitchen stuff and it’s no joke. I’ve been unpacking the kitchen for DAYS.
During one of our endless trips to empty all the small leftover bits out of the rental, I handed Katie part of my makeup organizers to put in the car. This is what she did with it.
I washed my hair today and tried a bun again and it looked horrible. I guess a bun only works for me on days-old hair…?! We’ll see what happens as the day wears on.
Anyhoo. Guess what? Sandstone Pearl Shimmer and….Sunbaked Shimmer today. And it’s glorious. But no lipstick today because I don’t even want to think about it.

Tom’s been at the new house painting the garage this morning (finishing up since his paint sprayer died last night and we had to buy a new one 😒) and I’ve been up since 5:30 but just getting rolling around the old house. Today we move the fridges around and it’s a logistical nightmare. My job is to fill the coolers with everything I think we won’t need in the next week to move to the new house.
Anyway. I did my makeup today to keep some semblance of normalcy.
Neutral shadows and gloss only with brown mascara instead of black so it wasn’t as drastic. This was about my daily go-to before I started getting into ALLLLLL the shadow colors.
A bit more skill
I decided kinda last minute to have a moving sale… I got to test out my new Portal+ and it was really cool!
So if you recall, the seller of our new house invited us over for drinks and a casual walk through. That was today. And it was epic.
Long story short, she’s amazing, the house is amazing, and we love it even more now!! We got along really well, we have a lot in common (to start, a love of margaritas and makeup!), and we are definitely going to be friends! How cool is that? The kids even wanted to stay the night!
Just 13 days until closing!!

For legit YEARS I have been juicing limes for the freezer (because who can use a whole bag before they go bad?!) and then also freezing the rinds to put down the garbage disposal to freshen it up.
And then today. Today y’all. I had the mic drop moment. I was juicing limes from our local fruit and veg box (George Fourkas Produce Company) while also drinking a margarita and I thought why not use those frozen lime ends as ice cubes? 😱😱😱 No more watered down margaritas!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

So after my great success with the Neon Green Shimmer, I decided to do a look with the new Amped Up Orange. Aaaaaand welllllll it’s not so much neon as it looks like Kraft macaroni and cheese to me.
I tried to soften (hide) it with Cinnamon Shimmer and a Rustic Brown but then I didn’t want to lose the orange…but I think I could have gone a bit darker. That said, it’s not BAD…it’s just not as good as the neon green was. 😂 It definitely needs either some perking up with a bright color or muting with more dark colors.
But I think the Cocoa LipSense is spot on, and I love the little Chocolate Copper highlight in the middle of my lips.
What say you? Yes or no?
Soooo I kinda felt like a rock star today—I actually pulled off a Neon Green Shimmer look with fake lashes!!
I never in a million years would have paired neon green and smoked topaz so I’m glad my friend Joyanne was leading me because holy shitballs it turned out good.
But if I’m being honest…I’m torn between thinking it looks awesome…and then catching a glimpse in the mirror and doing a double-take and thinking I look like a clown. (I have been branching out but am mostly still into earth-tones!)
But bottom line… I’m thrilled with the look and I couldn’t be happier! And because I looked so dang good, here are the rest of the photos!!
She bugs me to wear lipstick all the time and I usually hesitate because I know she won’t want to deal with taking it off. But today I let her as a special treat because we were going to be seeing her teacher.
The application is all hers—I didn’t help one bit (color me impressed!!) but she did whine a little when I told her she needed to do three layers AND put on gloss. (And later in the day she was positive it was coming off and I assured her it was not.)
I guess I could attempt to do the whole graphic like mine…maybe next time.
(No she’s not in SeneGence makeup…yet. Though honestly she needs the LipSense because the lipstick she put on got all over her shirt and her face yesterday.)
When I take my eye look pics, I usually have a few “sets” to choose from. Some days it’s easier than others. Some days you’d be surprised how far your head moves between the eyes open and eyes closed photo. Some days I cannot decide and have to ask a friend. Today I ended up choosing the top pair, which is my normal style.
HABANERO!! Finally!! And wow does it pull orange on me!! I tried doing a bit more makeup today to offset it but I’m still not sure it works. It’s not bad, just not my color. Or maybe it doesn’t go with the eye makeup I picked? Or my outfit? I don’t know. I just know it’s not love. What do you think? Be honest.
So I tried the Kiss My Sass and Peacock Pearl today and it was as good as I wanted it to be.
I decided this past Sunday afternoon to run a huge new party for my business.
It’s a specific party that someone came up with and has tested the format many times over—to help get new business—so I’ve had to bust my butt to get new people in to my group and then try to get them active and keep them.
Honestly I was in a bad spot mentally since this is the first month in maybe EVER that I literally have zero sales as of the 15th. Zero. Not one. Nothing. Even after my $6000 sale month last year I made sales the next month. And my seneversary month was good…. so who knows what’s going on. And I hoped this party would pull it out for me. So I was following every. single. step. And today’s work was creating a collage of suggested products for each person that joined or posted a selfie. Here are some of the ones I did!
So it’s time to go work by the fire. And the kids are out riding bikes so it’s quiet…..
After a full day of working on my big scary plan !!!EEEEEEEEK!!! this is well-deserved. (Yes I worked on mother’s day. My gift was the kids leaving me alone in peace and quiet.)
