Waiting for the doctor
Who knows why kids do what they do…
Helping the garage door!
He’s just started doing this when we go to the park (and I close the garage door while he’s standing there).
Headed to the park!
All bundled up and on our way!
At the park:
Drawing and counting
If you listen closely you’ll hear him counting. I think he starts from 7 and goes to 10. Also if you listen really closely you’ll hear him fart—which is why I laugh.

Random summer videos
Here are just a few videos from this summer that I never got around to posting…
Random Owen
New slipper dance!
Kicking the ball!
Grandpa Mike got him to do this the other week, but I showed him again today—and actually got it on film!
Spinning and spinning and spinning and falling!
Every once in awhile, Owen gets to spinning. And spinning. And then, eventually, stumbling around and falling. It’s completely adorable. It took me a minute to start recording, so this actually starts with him falling, but then you will get to see more spinning. You can hear us all DYING with laughter in the background.

Cutie Pie
Dancing in the kitchen!
A few old videos
I’m not always great at uploading videos when I take them, so here are a few from earlier this month.
You just never know when a simple action (like kicking the ball back through the gate) will become a fun game.
Playing outside while watching himself being recorded.
Playing with two of his favorite toys—the screen door and a ball—until the dog next door barks and he has to look at it. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Stairway success!
Owen’s comprehension level has been growing lately—for the past month or so, if you ask if he wants to go outside, he runs to the gate (or the sliding door if the gate is open) and once outside, if you ask if he wants to go inside, he goes straight to the door. He also knows when he gets shoes on, we’re most likely going into the garage—and sometimes he’ll even wait outside the car door.
More recently (like within the past week or so), at naptime or bedtime, when you say it’s time for nap/bed, he will go to the gate/stairs, go up the stairs, then go to his room and wait for you to put him in the crib! What a good little boy!
So this morning, Tom brought him into our room for some cuddle TV time and when it was time to go downstairs, I told Owen, and he went directly to the stairs…then proceeded to go down all by himself! What a big boy!
Sorry about the bad video quality—I wasn’t prepared so didn’t have the lights on, then turned them on, then turned on the phone’s flash…but you’ll get the idea. 🙂
A new kitchen game!
Owen and the Spoon
Just look at the new eating style he came up with!
And then he caught on pretty quick once I showed him the right way to do it…
Just Owen
Watching himself being recorded…funny as always!
Playing outside!
Shoulder Ride
Burpie Cover Up
A new thing Owen has been doing lately…rolling around and covering his face with the burpie. He thinks if he can’t see you, he’s hiding. 🙂
Post-lunch treat!
Normally Owen only gets a sucker after shots or during a haircut, but they had a bowl of them at the restaurant today, so we gave him one. We missed recording the BIG smiles when he saw it and realized what it was.
And then, him watching himself with the sucker…
Success on the patio stairs!
Last night Tom and I both watched as Owen stepped off the last patio step—with no assistance and not holding the sides. Of course, neither of us had our phone (camera) on us. So this morning we were out for morning playtime when he started doing it again—and I caught it this time!
His nose and the letter A
Owen has discovered his nose. Or, more specifically, his nostrils. His finger is ALWAYS in his nose. Not picking or rooting around or anything, but just IN his nose.
He knows the letter A. We were in Joann Fabrics the other day in the aisle with wooden letters, and he grabbed the A and said “AY!” And just now, on Sesame Street, the letter of the day is A and it was on the screen and he said “AY!” So he’s not talking, but he does know some of his letters (the others being O and sometimes D, and he will say some of the letters when he sing the Alphabet Song).
New Stacking Toy
I bought this many months ago when it was on sale at Target, and it’s been waiting in the basement. I was getting ready to give it to him and had it sitting on the island in the kitchen…when he walked by and saw it, so reached up to get it! Stinker!
Since he LOVES stacking (see the Crayon video from earlier today), he loves this set. He also loves the “ball” on the top of one of the columns.
ABCs, a monkey, and a pillow ride!
Gramma Jean is saying the alphabet in the background, and once in awhile you can hear Owen say a letter. But moreso, he’s enjoying chewing on his new monkey toy.
Tom and I went out to dinner and much to our surprise, Owen was still up when we got home about 9pm! He just was NOT tired! After some playing, he got a special pillow ride from daddy…
