Grandma Jean was making brownies and let Owen lick the spatula. We made him stay in the kitchen (no carpet) but he still managed to get chocolate on the sliding glass door, the floor, and of course himself.

Game Day at Grandma’s!
Happy (belated) birthday, Grannie Lin!
Oops! We were a day late…and we felt bad because we had actually been with Grannie on her birthday…but it was a busy morning as that’s when we were packing up to head back to Grayling.
Feeding the fish!
Tom and Grandma Marsha took Owen to the fish hatchery—and he seemed to enjoy it a little more than he did last year.
Playing on Gramma Jean
Be careful when you lay on the floor with a little boy around…
Refusing to go poop!
This is now one of my all-time favorite Owen videos. Oh. My. Gawd. It was all I could do while recording him NOT to bust out laughing…and at one point, you can see the video jiggle because I was trying to hold it in. I laugh every single time I watch it, and I bet you will, too. In fact, I dare you to only watch it once.
Big jumps with daddy
A quick Katie coo.
Santa’s coming!
Once upon a time…
Owen decided he wanted to read me a story, so he went and picked a book and this is what happened:
Happy birthday, papa!
Dancing to Doctor Who
Cooing Katie
NO KISSES!
He definitely didn’t want kisses and was letting us know…but he was also half laughing. That growl you hear in his voice? That’s what his “tantrums” are like (I know, not bad—I’m not complaining).
P-U-O-L-E-P spells pool

Almost. :>>
Just Katie Again
Post-rain water fun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJrSvn9n7Mc
He was having a blast in the puddles after it rained. You can hear him babbling, but probably won’t be able to make much of it out because a) the water drainage is louder than I thought and b) he’s hard to understand anyway (I was standing right there and could barely understand).
Counting to 20 goes off the rails
Owen trying to take his shirt off
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDrpNUM4GYI
We were outside on the porch waiting for Tom to come home, when Owen decided he wanted to take his shirt off. Sometimes we do this when he plays in the sprinkler, but we weren’t doing that and he didn’t want to do that…so I have no idea why he wanted it off. So, I wasn’t going to take it off—but I told him that if HE could take it off, then it could come off. So he tried. And tried. Then asked for help. Then got more interested in watching himself (as usual) than trying to get the shirt off. Then got distracted by the spiderweb…

Leashes as guns
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQKBRJdWyGw
Owen discovered Maggie’s leashes today…and, well…they apparently look like guns. 🙂
Happy birthday, Gramma Jean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4xkYEQT7jQ
I love the ending…I was whispering for him to say Happy Birthday again…but he says CAKE! 🙂
Kinda maybe a first smile…or smirk?

Or maybe it’s so subtle only a mom can see it? :b
Dancing with the Chippendales.

Well, the fake Chippendale auditions on Saturday Night Live with Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley. 🙂
Walking like a zombie…and more!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJw_FJOURG4
Owen is obsessed with zombies, thanks to Tom’s iPhone game Plants vs. Zombies. He will tell you they pee on the floor (like they do in the game), he will list off characters (the one with the screen door, the one with the zamboni, etc.), and he will walk like a zombie… (And then of course he wants me to turn the phone/camera around so he can see himself, but of course it doesn’t work like that.)
He’s also obsessed with FINISH LINES, courtesy of the Cars Wii game he’s been addicted to for months…so he’s always talking about finish lines and spelling F-I-N-I-S-H. I can’t quite make out the first few words he’s whispering, but then I definitely hear finish line. Then I try to get him to say “Arrrr” like a pirate but it doesn’t quite turn out like I thought. 🙂
Tricycle attempt #2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMb5ryL5vsw
He likes it…and kinda gets how it works (you can see in the video that at first he seems to really have the hang of it) but then he either loses interest or something and he can’t seem to understand that he has to peddle. But it’s still cute.
Owen holds Katie! Owen feeds Katie!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGojz3OUFZo
He finally agreed to hold her today! Thank heavens for iPhones so I could capture it—I asked him like I always do but I really wasn’t expecting him to say yes so I didn’t have my real camera handy.
He was practically giddy with excitement and was all smiles—it was SO cute!
Checking himself out in the mirror!
And then he was done…and off doing Owen stuff again.
ARRRRRR!!!
Bathtime fun! QUACK!
He is used to watching himself when I record him…so you can hear him asking me to turn the camera around so he can see. 🙂
And some super cute post-bath quacking!
Blowing on Owen’s face
Owen’s first trike!
He never really liked ride-on toys. We tried a balance bike—he didn’t like (get) that at all. He showed no interest in a regular bike. So when I saw this trike for a steal, we thought we’d try it. It just might work…

Aside from pushing the bike around the house, this is his entire first experience (outside) with his new trike. I think we have a ways to go yet. 🙂
