Tom: We need cat food. Why don’t you run to Target and stay out awhile.
Me: /leaves before he can change his mind/
Damn cat food cost me $134.

We were there for milk and I just had to stop and take a pic of the hoarde of people waiting to stampede the roasted chickens.

It was more impressive without the coat and with the skirt fully flounced. Nothing matched at all.

Tom went to Glen’s (it will ALWAYS be Glen’s) and came home with a bunch of new $1 bottles for me to try. It’s not bad but it’s not a margarita.

I never shop at Hallmark any other time except when we come home…and I always find stuff I want. Sometimes I splurge, sometimes I add to my Amazon wishlist. Today I splurged because HOW CAN YOU NOT WHEN IT’S PERFECT?! #MargaritasAreLife #christmasornaments #vacation #northernmichigan #grayling #photobomber #livinglippy

A friend and I went to a local craft fair and I fell in love with these big soft floofy infinity scarves. But I’m not a scarf person. I’ve tried. But I put it on and it didn’t look too bad.

It’s even better in daylight!

Katie desperately wanted to go shopping with her teacher tonight for “Shopping with the Educators” at Target. To see just how serious she was, I told her she had to spend her own money—and she agreed instantly. So of course I matched her money and had a ball watching her shop with her teacher and a handful of classmates for the local holiday food drive. She loved shopping, ringing everything up, and loading it on the school bus. 💕 Mrs. Glenn is completely awesome and did an amazing job corralling a large handful of kids into buying what they needed.

End of season savings? END OF SEASON SAVINGS? The season just started?! Also, not one snow scraper to be found. I guess bathing suits will be out next week. #getoffmylawn

I’m trying to find a pair of silver dress heels for my ball gown so I went to the local huge shoe store (DSW) with no luck. I print could have gone to the mall but who wants to do that?! So it was off to Amazon and Zappos. And this doesn’t include the one pair that got returned already or the three pair that are still coming tomorrow.
Thus far I’ve narrowed it down to the super comfy Naturalizers that I don’t 100% love the look of (front left, $95) vs the ones I love the look of but are maybe at an 8 on the comfort level scale (back middle, $24).

I got $359 worth of kids summer clothes and shoes for $232 after the clearance prices, coupons, and REDcard savings.
I had Owen write down the numbers and do the math, so this might be a hair off but you get the gist. 🙂
RETAIL PRICE: $359
CLEARANCE PRICE: $232
I’ll take a 35% savings! 🙂
I decided it was time to get some material to hang in the bathroom as a backdrop for when I do my live Facebook demos… So Heidi and I went shopping. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted—something natural like wood or stones—but there was nothing good. Or I thought I liked something but when you held it up behind you it didn’t work (the pattern was too small).
Here were the contenders. I imagine you can tell the one I decided on?

The bonus was that it was on clearance…and then when they rang it up it was half off again! So I paid $17 for four yards of fabric! And the type of fabric it is won’t show wrinkles—woohoo!!
It’s date day so of course we ended up at a Costco. (Tom said no.)

He bought me a new margarita drink.

It was cute and I was excited.
Unfortunately…it was horrible. I dumped it out.

Battleship. Still in the shrink-wrap (circa 1996). They’re loving it.

We found a great Lands End coat for Owen at the Salvation Army today. It must have come from a house with pets because Charlie went crazy on it. Rubbing and pawing and just laying on it.

There’s a long story behind this but suffice it to say we’re almost at the finish line.

They enjoyed the sous vide ribs so we decided to do the king of steaks—the cowboy ribeye!

The kids had Parents Night Out and my mom and stepdad were here… So we went out for dinner and realized as we sat down in a crowded and loud restaurant/bar that it was both A) Cinco de Mayo and B) Kentucky Derby day. Thankfully it cleared out within 20 minutes because the race was over.
After, they went home to get the kids while Tom and I did our normal kidless shopping excursion.

Our first stop was Ross, where I saw these hideously hilarious “Protein Snacks” underwear for Tom. I queried Facebook to see if we should buy them and the answer was a resounding YES.

So we did:

Then it was down the parking lot to TJ Maxx (we shopped, but nothing as picture-worthy as the underwear) and then to Trader Joe’s (since we hadn’t been there yet).
And look what I fell into?! Teeny tiny margarita shots! So I succumbed. Yes, it was technically still against no sugar rules but I allowed it.

And then this…

But we didn’t get any chocolate.
And then we weren’t sure where to go and I said “Hey! I washed to try an Everything Croissant at Starbucks—let’s go across the street to check!” So we did and they did so I had a croissant for tomorrow.

And then we realized we were next door to a grocery store so we went in to look for polish meatball ingredients so I could make them with Mom.
Normally I love the samples… just not when I’m being serious about Naturally Slim.

Check out the awesome shirt I found at Old Navy (thanks to Heidi inviting me to help her shop). Margaritas for my senoritas!

The last time I was at Sam’s Club, I noticed my margaritas were gone. I might have freaked out a bit.
But today I found them… We must have missed the tiny half aisle where they relocated them.

So now I can relax. 🙂

With all the back issues Tom and I both have (plus his new shoulder issues) we’ve been looking at getting a new bed. We love our Purple pillows and have been dreaming about trying the mattress so when they recently came out with upgraded mattresses we jumped on it.

I did a Facebook Live “unboxing” because I had a bunch of friends who I knew were interested in the whole process:
And then I did the infamous “egg test”:
Of course, the company’s official videos are much, much better. 🙂
Stay tuned to see if we like it…
I’ve threatened to buy one the next time I saw an orange sticker…and today was the day! A glorious 2.28# of ribeye. Getting the sous vide ready now!

Someone is also interested…

Just sea salt, garlic powder, pepper, topped with an onion slice then cooked sous vide for five hours. Then Tom will take a torch to it to sear it!

It turned out absolutely delicious. We momentarily thought it was too rare and we going to toss it in a pan quick but we took a taste test and immediately decided it was perfect.

You know it’s going to be a good day when they have your favorite pre-made Strawberry Lime margaritas back in stock! It also means summer is coming! ☀️🍹
I may have bought two cases. 🙂
