What a crazy live sale!

So I’d been having a party all month long in my business group and it culminated with a live sale. My bestie Heidi came to help and we started things off right with a margarita.

I had planned for about an hour but it ended up to be almost two!! And I’m so glad she was there to help because they’re is no way I could have done it alone. The only bad thing about doing it at night is that I had about four hours of work to do after!

This was at 9:53.

This was at 12:10.

I finally called it a night at 2am.

Baseball Wrap Party

The whole team was invited to Richardson’s Adventure Farm to celebrate a great fall season of baseball. Not too many showed up, but we all had a great time! We rented a site with a fire pit and the kids enjoyed the Jumping Pillow, a 100′ slide, and the World’s Largest and Most Intricate Corn Maze (lots of cool details here). Lest you think I’m kidding about the maze, here it is:

Richardson Farm 2019 Corn Maze

We brought plain hot chocolate but Jess brought this… You can see why we’re friends.

Mom fun!

Yes I went down this!

It was actually really fun and not scary at all!

This place was huge!

I might have eaten something delicious.

Then once the moms were back at the fire, the dads took a group of kids through the corn maze.

And within five minutes of being in the car on the way home…

A game changer for those of us always cold!

Friends, if you know me, you know I am pretty much ALWAYS cold. And I am a baseball mom who often has to sit outside in chilly weather. Plus I loooove technology. So when I saw a heated blanket that is powered by an external power bank? And can be turned into a cape? Y’ALL…I’M TOTALLY IN. So if you’re anything like me, I figured you’d want one for yourself. And there’s still a bunch of time left in this campaign for you to grab one… You’re welcome. ❤️

ROAR Run 2019

This was our third year doing the Woodland PTO ROAR Run fundraiser! We thought it might not happen as major storms rolled through a few hours before, but it cleared up in time! I didn’t get as many good pics this year…

Practicing football sprints.

She’s still good with the hula hoop!

Guess who pinned his own number?

This is the only pic I took with my phone. I just thought it was cute…but Anna said they look like cell phone reception bars!! I love it!!

Her face is how I envision everyone feels after running. 🙂

And our friend Evan…

RESULTS!

It’s fall, y’all!

I volunteered to do Owen’s teacher’s door for fall! I hadn’t thought that I’d get to choose what I wanted, so of course I started overthinking. I like Pinterest but it’s just so overwhelming. I ended up asking Anna to help me since she did a door for the same teacher last year…

It’s not perfect but it’s not bad for my first time! It was great having an extra set of hands, otherwise I’d have been there twice as long! Owen helped a little bit but honestly he wasn’t that much help (tape circles proved to be a huge challenge).

Katie’s second grade picture outfit!

We didn’t really plan for her hair to be pink, but earlier in the week she wanted half purple and half pink hair and I didn’t realize when I agreed that school pictures were coming up. Over the summer the color never lasted long because we always were at the pool and the color comes out pretty easily in the pool in one day. But we had no pool this time, so her hair was still really colored…so we just went all pink!

I’m sold on these Tori Belle magnetic lashes!!

Yeah. I’m sold on these Tori Belle magnetic lashes!! I hate liquid eyeliner (but I hate glue waaay more) and I do need to work on the finer points of application…but overall it was super easy. And I might need the other less dramatic styles because these are a little much for Saturday morning baseball.

After a few hours at baseball and back at home, one lash felt like it was starting to come off and Katie even told me it was coming off. So I pulled it off without looking at it too closely. Once I got up off the couch (Maggie was sleeping on me) I checked it out and reapplied for date night.

Redone…with more eye makeup…and I just love how they look.

So after I put them on a second time they felt even better. But about five hours in, I could just somehow feel like they were loose or something, so I touched them to see… And could tell they were pretty much off. It was weird. But really I’m happy with 5ish hours of wear for my first attempt.

Poor Maggie…

This is what you look like when you need to dash out of the house straight from bed in order to take your dog to the vet because she’s been needing to go outside and pee? poop? every two hours overnight and the vet only has one opening in 20 minutes.

Maggie woke us up last night BARKING to be let out of her crate—that never happens so we knew something was up. Long story short, we stupidly gave her sausage drippings last night and we assumed that didn’t sit well with her but as time wore on and more info became clear…we think she ate cat poop and then she got gross stuff in their shared water bowl…because a cat had diarrhea, too.

It was really scary for awhile because Maggie had diarrhea for days and wasn’t eating and we eventually had to go back to the vet for medication to make her stop pooping. And then she still didn’t want to eat. And since she’s so old, we worried she might not recover. But within a few more days she was doing better… But it was a stressful week with lots of laundering of poopy dog beds and blankets.

Me: Katie, why are you so stinking cute? Why do you have to be so cute?
Owen: To attract boys!
😳🤦🏽‍♀️

Me: Owen, tell Dad it’s time for dinner.

Owen goes to the garage and tells Tom it’s time for dinner. He walks back in and sits down.

Owen: Mom, is it time for dinner?
Me: 😳🤦🏻‍♀️

Someone on TV was talking about hope.
Katie: I can hope for anything because I have a hope chest at grammas. 💕

Katie: Let’s go play some football.
Owen: Not now! I just got my burning stick!

Fri-YAY: Friends!

This week I’m thankful for friends. That seems really generic, I know, but let me explain.

Being military and moving every three years, there is a certain cycle that we go through each move–it generally takes about two full years before we finally have a good set of friends. You know…the ones you can call last-minute to watch your kids, the ones you can call to take your kids to sportsball practice when you can’t make it, the ones you invite over for dinner because your kids get along so well. It’s also a time when friends are around regularly enough that it seems very commonplace–like we’ve been here our whole lives.

So we’re at that two-year mark.

This week I went for a walk around the neighborhood with a friend, I ran into a friend shopping at Michael’s, a friend came over to shop for make-up, a friend and I vented to each other about life, I helped a friend decide what artwork to hang in her house, a friend came over and picked me up because she wanted to talk and I had been drinking and couldn’t drive, and a friend offered her assistance in designing a T-shirt for our upcoming family vacation.

Friends are amazing and I don’t take any of them for granted.

Kids ruin everything.

I have had this game of Life for probably 35 years. I have moved it around the country for almost 20. And never once did anything happen to it—it was basically pristine. I let the kids start playing with it and within six months all the buildings have been removed from the board, consequently buildings are missing, and the box has been stepped on and crushed.

This just pisses me off…and kinda breaks my heart. I know it’s just a game and it’s just a “thing” but it just reinforces that our kids (and I’m thinking kids in general) just don’t give two shits about taking care of their things OR things that belong to others (not all the time of course, but more often than I’d like). I try to instill good behavior—and I know overall they’re great kids—but something like this seriously makes me want to throat punch them.

Want to know how to make a grown woman cry?

Get into the shower this morning and realize my cleanser is open AND upside down, then looking down on the shower floor and seeing two huge puddles of cleanser. 😳😭

You can bet your ass I quickly scooped up as much as I could and put it back into the container…but I probably still lost a month’s worth. 😭😭😭

SO YOUR BONUS TIP OF THE DAY IS TO MAKE SURE YOUR CLEANSER IS STORED CAP UP. Just in case the flip top hits something just right and pops open.

Sidenote: Also, because I am me, my immediate second thought was I wanted to take a picture of it to make a tip graphic for my business…but I was literally naked in the shower. So I didn’t.
