Noooooo! I don’t know how I missed a day of Wordle!

Olive came home from Dave and Anna’s with a new look.

Since Olive can squeeze under sections of our fence, we had to figure out a temporary solution.

Why there, Olive? You’re weird.

Katie wanted me to do her makeup so I used the same colors on both of us.

We finally took the kids to Dave and Buster’s for the first time today! They had gotten a gift certificate from Anna for their birthdays last year that we’d forgotten about. I honestly wasn’t looking forward to it because I knew from other people’s stories that it’s usually crazy busy and loud and I assumed the food would be blah. Thankfully I was wrong!
I’m sure it’s due to the state of the world, but it was practically empty! And the menu looked pretty good (especially the drink menu)! My margarita was yummy!

Anna did warn us that we’d spend more money than we’d want to and we just needed to let it go and let the kids have fun (LOL). We didn’t go crazy with the games—and we did make them pay for a tiny part of it—but yeah, that was an expensive lunch. Hopefully they have lasting memories of it!
And also, now Dave and Buster’s gift cards are a great gift to give!!
P.S. This drink was DELICIOUS and we need to try and recreate it at home:
CARIBBEAN LUXE LONG ISLAND TEA
Don Julio Reposado Tequila, Grey Goose Vodka, Bacardi Superior Rum, Grand Marnier, mango puree, scratch sour mix and cranberry juice.

Our two fishes are back to swim lessons at British Swim School! We are so happy we discovered BSS back in Virginia when they were just babes!

After an hour drive, the only bad thing about our free Vettix tickets are that we were in the bleachers in the sun. If we came again, we’d spring for actual seats…in the shade!!

It was hot…so Tom got me a margarita!

And the kids got Dipping Dots!

Remember all the drama from our original attempted ottoman delivery? Well…this delivery was postponed a bit as well, but it finally came today (we ordered it in January) and it’s perfect!

And of course within one minute of delivery…

We’ve had this bed here for awhile but she never wanted to use it. Then she discovered that the sun hits it…

And a nap with Katie.

And a cuddle with Owen.

Her kids left her and she was whining at the door waiting for them to come home.

Sheb gave up on the kids and wanted me to pick her up and now look what’s happened. How am I supposed to get any work done now? P.S. I’m sitting at the kitchen table.

P.S. I’m sitting at the kitchen table. 😂

Proud to support a local business that supports the local schools by promoting a YES vote on the upcoming referendum!

My Covid isolation is over! Now I get to mask in public for the rest of my time.
I feel about 98% healthy. No more morning headaches. No more cough. Just a tiny bit of phlegm and my voice isn’t back to normal yet.
I’m on library/Kindle book #9—time for something a little different after all my chick lit and mystery titles.

Library book update: I finished book #4, read a super quick short story #5, and am 8% through book #6.

I actually feel pretty good today. Covid has not made me sleepy tired (just physically exhausted) so I was up reading until 1:30am—but then I slept pretty well (even considering I was 95% stuffed up) until 9:30! It was too hot and humid to read outside so I’ve been inside. I still get the morning headache but Excedrin still works. My voice sounds crazy but otherwise I think I’m on the mend.

I’d say she’s grown just a little bit.

She can finally jump up on her own and she likes resting up there.

And then she’s off. Still being cute.

And then a big nap back in the house.

I’m on library book 4. (I started and finished book 3, A Room Full of Bones, last night.)

If I didn’t know better, I’d think I just had a head cold. I’m stuffed up and I have phlegm. Still have the headache in the morning but Excedrin fixes that. Didn’t sleep great but I generally don’t. Overall I’m just TIRED and moving slow.
I’m excited (again) to be able to sit outside for a little bit—fresh air and a change of scenery. Plus I get to cuddle with Olive…

And watch her be cute and have fun in the yard. She loves laying on these inflatable sleds (for the waterslide).

The kids took a break from the slide to try and take Olive over to it. She made it to the side but hopped off once they set it down and tried to push her down the slide!

I slept pretty well. Woke up with a killer headache. Still have a random little cough and some phlegm. I guess I’m a little stuffed up, too. No fever. Really it just feels like being sick.
I’m thankful it’s not a billion degrees outside this morning so I can sit out here and read while the rest of the family is inside…but I already hear my bed calling me.

A few hours later…
Thankfully it’s not unbearable outside so I’m still on the porch. Different egg chair, though, for a bit different view.

And then this happened.
I tested positive this morning.
Thankfully it’s nothing too awful—a minor sore throat, a random cough, slight body aches (but that could just be me being old), and the worst is a nagging headache but it’s manageable with Excedrin. It really all just feels like an annoying cold. Vaccines and boosters for the win.
The kids feel fine. Tom has tested negative. And apparently dogs can get Covid so if I want to cuddle Olive I need to mask.

At least I have a cute cuddle buddy!

And Katie decided to get out Legos right here. For the first time ever.

Olive was being very bitey and Anna was trying to flick her in the nose while avoiding the teeth. I managed to snap this action photo! It looks like they’re jamming to music!

Because this is what happens…

Hubby made me a frozen strawberry basil margarita. It’s…odd. It’s not bad, but I can’t reconcile the Italian basil profile with the strawberry marg profile. I probably wouldn’t do it again…but I’m not complaining!
