Did you know this?
I was today years old when I learned you are supposed to use this spray every time you clean your glasses.

Why do I do what I do?

🧐Why? Why do I do what I do?
I joke that Tom said it was time for me to “get a job” and I didn’t want to do that so I did this to placate him. And while that was the truth at the beginning…things gradually changed. Now I have something that is 100% mine…and it allows me to be here for my kids, which, as they get older is actually more important to me. I want to be the house that everyone gathers at because it’s fun or comfortable or safe–and I don’t feel I can do that if I’m on someone else’s clock. So I made my OWN clock and it’s wonderful. Yes, sometimes working from home is a pain in the butt, but it’s still HOME… exactly where I want and need to be.
👨👩👧👦 So…why do I do what I do? I do it for these guys. This family that I love so much. This family that bears with me when I want to take a family portrait on a walk and it’s too damn sunny but they do it anyway. The family that supports each other no matter what. My goal last year was to earn enough for a Disney Cruise…and I did…so plans are now in motion. 🚢🙌
⏰ If you are ready to give up someone else’s clock or create your own, message me about how I can help. What would you do with an extra $300/month?
(We have a one-day event coming up Tuesday where you can learn all the details, ask any question, and hear stories or connect with people who you can relate to. PM me to join! You won’t regret it!)
DAMN Y’ALL. I’M FLABBERGASTED.

Can I talk to you for a second about my wattle? 🦃 I hate it, but I’ve considered it a badge of honor🎖for having lost 141# ⚖️ (now a bit less but let’s not go there in this post). 😂 But look what happened recently in just eight days?
DAMN Y’ALL. I’M FLABBERGASTED. I expected this to take at least a month or two IF IT EVEN WORKED. And it took days. DAYS Y’ALL.
(I’ve also been using it on my face but was so concentrated on watching for neck results that I didn’t take a direct face before shot. I’ve used it sporadically in the past but I’m determined to be religious about it going forward…because look at those results?!)
Sometimes they cuddle.

Our first smoked butt roast was amazing.
Kudos to Chef Tom who did the whole thing.

Lazy Saturday morning doing my job as a pillow.
First, she begs.

Then she lays.

Unicorn Lips

This is what happens when I try to work from bed.
I’m waiting for the Oxy to kick in so I can function today.

Thankfully she moved. 🙂

It’s boob squishing day!

It’s a minefield out there.
Someone doesn’t like to poop in the snow anymore. And someone has been neglecting his chores.

You’re staying… No you’re being discharged.
Tom texted me in the morning to say they were holding him another day… So I went to visit after the kids for on the bus…and while I was there they decided he was being discharged! After waiting since 7am to get the MRI results, the doc said it’s a torn nerve (and of course the doc came in during the five minutes I ran too check on another appointment). They said he doesn’t need IV drugs so they’re sending him home since there’s not much else they can do at the hospital. It is what it is. The meds will help with inflammation and pain and he gets an appointment with a pain clinic for a steroid shot. But that’s it. If it rips more it’s serious—like they told him if his lower extremities get numb to come in immediately. 😳🥺

Of course, it took about two hours to get discharged and then an unplanned 45 minutes to get the meds at the pharmacy, so I had to scurry to find friends to get the kids off the bus. But all ended well and he’s home now.
Bestie spa time.

Let’s just say we don’t have good backs in our house.
I threw my back out last week and Tom threw his out yesterday (reaching for something he dropped). He managed to hold out overnight until the kids went to school before going to the ER…

The typical drug routine didn’t work this time so long story short about five hours in (when his pain level was still at a 10) they ended up admitting him so they could do an MRI (the ER couldn’t administer it on their own for whatever reason).
I had to go home to eat lunch, pack his overnight bag, get the kids off the bus, and then we all went back for a picnic dinner and some cuddles.

He seemed a little better, but then he wasn’t moving. He said his pain was about a 3 laying there but any time he tried to move or stand it was a 10. He has an MRI scheduled for the morning so hopefully we will know more then.
Jealousy…or plotting.

It was a wee bit windy.

When I asked for seafood, they delivered.
Our good friends and amazing chefs invited us for dinner. They don’t do seafood with their regular dinner group so were excited when I said we’d be ALL IN for as seafood extravaganza. And what an extravaganza it was…

Pre-dinner drinks! Jami tried to give me a margarita replacement. It was okay but I really missed the sugar!!

Salmon Rilletes and Gingered Crab Potato Nests

David’s homemade soppressata and cheese.

Lobster Cheesecake

Seared Scallop on Truffled Parsnip Purée

Lobster Bisque w/Anchovy Butter toasts

Lobster Stuffed Chateaubriand with Bernaise Sauce, asparagus, and failed duck fat potatoes.

Raspberry Soufflé

One additional special thing that happened… Tom and I finally opened a bottle of wine we bought after our first cruise in 2006. We had done a wine tasting on board and liked that so bought it once we got home. Then we didn’t remember what we needed to drink it with and never looked it up and just moved out around with us. So tonight it was time. And it was okay but not my style at all.

All in all an amazing night of friendship and food.
It’s my day, y’all! #NationalMargaritaDay
Um guys…did you know today is my day?! It really needs to be in the summer, though, right? Anyhoo, I’m looking forward to having a few sips tonight—I can’t have much more since I’m being super strict on Naturally Slim, but I can’t NOT have one today!

ROW 1: Lemon margarita!? Yes. I NEED a slushie machine.
ROW 2: YES! YES! Two bottles.
ROW 3: Always. NyQuil margarita? I believe.
ROW 4: Combine them! Nothing. There is on Facebook!

Y’all—I don’t mess around.

He’s not a margarita fan so I have to drink enough for the both of us. #FirstWorldProblems
Homemade pizzas on the grill
It’s been awhile since we’ve made homemade pizza and Tom had been wanting to try them on his new grill…
Our pizza? Garlic aioli, sopresseto, caramelized onions, home-smoked cheddar, and some tomato mix we forgot to spread on top of the aioli.

The kids? Peanut butter and jelly.

Owen tried ours and then asked for ours!! What?!
Well THOSE are a surprise.
I knew about Poland, the Ukraine, and Germany…but British? Irish? Greek? Interesting. Once you get started in 23andMe, it’s a veritable rabbit hole… See you in a few days. LOL

See anyone familiar?
🥺So everyone is allowed to have a pity party once in awhile–as long as you don’t let it consume you and you can move along it’s all good. Consider it a mental health moment and we all need those. AMIRITE?!
This morning was my morning. Then I picked myself up and made this graphic because DAMN Y’ALL SeneGence wouldn’t publish my name in the monthly newsletter unless I was being successful. AMIRITE?! 🥰🙌

Every once in awhile Owen agrees to let Katie sleep in his room.

It’s practically a race to see who gets there first.
I haven’t sat down all day so when I do this happens instantly.

HALLLLLLLLLLP MEEEEEEE!!!!
Why is it I can organize someone else’s closet or pantry (hi Stacey!) but when it comes to my own I’m a hot mess? Nothing fits where I want it to fit and I have too much stuff to fit in this armoire but it’s my only option. I hate complaining about such a first world problem but this setup is literally the bane of my work existence. I normally just shut the doors and try to ignore it but I had to get everything out for Heidi’s demo last night so now I’ve decided that it needs to be put back together nicely. And I’ve been procrastinating all morning but Tom will kill me if it’s like this when he gets home. 😂

THREE HOURS LATER…The stuff on the top still makes me twitchy but I can live with it for now.

I love my Katie notes.
I was away from home tonight at a demo and this was waiting for me on my side of the bed.

What exactly is a serving size?
You gotta love personal cookie delivery!!! And just so we’re clear, is a serving size a sleeve or the box?

Owen’s dream is to live in Occoquan.
I love looking at the assignments in the hallway when I visit Owen’s classroom.

OMG SOOOOO THIS. It’s exhausting.

Snow. Blurgh.
I certainly wasn’t expecting this when we walked out of Costco…especially considering it actually felt warm(ish) today.

Apparently not a Whovian.
Someone at the Costco gas station just asked Tom what was up with the cheese grater. 😂
