DAMN Y’ALL. I’M FLABBERGASTED.

Can I talk to you for a second about my wattle? 🦃 I hate it, but I’ve considered it a badge of honor🎖for having lost 141# ⚖️ (now a bit less but let’s not go there in this post). 😂 But look what happened recently in just eight days?

DAMN Y’ALL. I’M FLABBERGASTED. I expected this to take at least a month or two IF IT EVEN WORKED. And it took days. DAYS Y’ALL.

(I’ve also been using it on my face but was so concentrated on watching for neck results that I didn’t take a direct face before shot. I’ve used it sporadically in the past but I’m determined to be religious about it going forward…because look at those results?!)

You’re staying… No you’re being discharged.

Tom texted me in the morning to say they were holding him another day… So I went to visit after the kids for on the bus…and while I was there they decided he was being discharged! After waiting since 7am to get the MRI results, the doc said it’s a torn nerve (and of course the doc came in during the five minutes I ran too check on another appointment). They said he doesn’t need IV drugs so they’re sending him home since there’s not much else they can do at the hospital. It is what it is. The meds will help with inflammation and pain and he gets an appointment with a pain clinic for a steroid shot. But that’s it. If it rips more it’s serious—like they told him if his lower extremities get numb to come in immediately. 😳🥺

Of course, it took about two hours to get discharged and then an unplanned 45 minutes to get the meds at the pharmacy, so I had to scurry to find friends to get the kids off the bus. But all ended well and he’s home now.

Let’s just say we don’t have good backs in our house.

I threw my back out last week and Tom threw his out yesterday (reaching for something he dropped). He managed to hold out overnight until the kids went to school before going to the ER…

The typical drug routine didn’t work this time so long story short about five hours in (when his pain level was still at a 10) they ended up admitting him so they could do an MRI (the ER couldn’t administer it on their own for whatever reason).

I had to go home to eat lunch, pack his overnight bag, get the kids off the bus, and then we all went back for a picnic dinner and some cuddles.

He seemed a little better, but then he wasn’t moving. He said his pain was about a 3 laying there but any time he tried to move or stand it was a 10. He has an MRI scheduled for the morning so hopefully we will know more then.

When I asked for seafood, they delivered.

Our good friends and amazing chefs invited us for dinner. They don’t do seafood with their regular dinner group so were excited when I said we’d be ALL IN for as seafood extravaganza. And what an extravaganza it was…

Pre-dinner drinks! Jami tried to give me a margarita replacement. It was okay but I really missed the sugar!!

Salmon Rilletes and Gingered Crab Potato Nests

David’s homemade soppressata and cheese.

Lobster Cheesecake

Seared Scallop on Truffled Parsnip Purée

Lobster Bisque w/Anchovy Butter toasts

Lobster Stuffed Chateaubriand with Bernaise Sauce, asparagus, and failed duck fat potatoes.

Raspberry Soufflé

One additional special thing that happened… Tom and I finally opened a bottle of wine we bought after our first cruise in 2006. We had done a wine tasting on board and liked that so bought it once we got home. Then we didn’t remember what we needed to drink it with and never looked it up and just moved out around with us. So tonight it was time. And it was okay but not my style at all.

All in all an amazing night of friendship and food.

It’s my day, y’all! #NationalMargaritaDay

Um guys…did you know today is my day?! It really needs to be in the summer, though, right? Anyhoo, I’m looking forward to having a few sips tonight—I can’t have much more since I’m being super strict on Naturally Slim, but I can’t NOT have one today!

ROW 1: Lemon margarita!? Yes. I NEED a slushie machine.
ROW 2: YES! YES! Two bottles.
ROW 3: Always. NyQuil margarita? I believe.
ROW 4: Combine them! Nothing. There is on Facebook!

Y’all—I don’t mess around.

He’s not a margarita fan so I have to drink enough for the both of us. #FirstWorldProblems

See anyone familiar?

🥺So everyone is allowed to have a pity party once in awhile–as long as you don’t let it consume you and you can move along it’s all good. Consider it a mental health moment and we all need those. AMIRITE?!

This morning was my morning. Then I picked myself up and made this graphic because DAMN Y’ALL SeneGence wouldn’t publish my name in the monthly newsletter unless I was being successful. AMIRITE?! 🥰🙌

HALLLLLLLLLLP MEEEEEEE!!!!

Why is it I can organize someone else’s closet or pantry (hi Stacey!) but when it comes to my own I’m a hot mess? Nothing fits where I want it to fit and I have too much stuff to fit in this armoire but it’s my only option. I hate complaining about such a first world problem but this setup is literally the bane of my work existence. I normally just shut the doors and try to ignore it but I had to get everything out for Heidi’s demo last night so now I’ve decided that it needs to be put back together nicely. And I’ve been procrastinating all morning but Tom will kill me if it’s like this when he gets home. 😂

THREE HOURS LATER…The stuff on the top still makes me twitchy but I can live with it for now.
