Helping daddy in the garage

Oh, the adventures Owen has out in the garage with Tom…

First, just sitting and watching while having a snack and watching Netflix on Tom’s phone.

The scantily clad pirate is unable to lock the door with the key he found.

Right now he is enjoying playing Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures on the XBOX and one of his favorite characters is a little boy who crawls through small doors where normal characters can’t fit—and the door always squeaks. So, when he was out playing in the boxes, he says “SQUEAK!” as he crawls in.

He wanted to be closed in.

And “building” with some screwdrivers and energy drinks that he pulled off the shelf.

Multiple phone calls

Owen playing with his toy phone this morning:

The phone’s ringing. That means people are calling. Talk to phone next to ear.

Grandpa’s calling. Hi grandpa. What’s up? See you soon. Okay bye.

Mommy!! Okay mama, what’s up?

Oh! Gramma’s calling me?! Hi! I’ll call you back as soon as I can!

That was grandpa and gramma and grandma Marsha and mama! In this phone! Right here!

Hi gramma. What’s up?

Morning Owenisms

Owen: This is a volcano race car.
Me: Volcano?
Owen: Yeah, it’s got lava on it!

Mom, I’m going to school. There’s the bus!

Mom, when you see the star, say star. [He hides the plastic star and slowly moves it into sight.]

[After pooping in the potty] Mom, sing the song!

These race cars are flashing. They need flashing for speed.

Mom, what was that? I’m going to find out.

Watch! I’m going to make some noises! [Presses button on a new toy to start the sound.] Awesome! [He hands Katie’s to her.] We’re sharing! I’m sharing with Katie!

[Watching Sesame Street] Those are grapes! I like grapes.

From utter frustration to melting heart in five minutes…

Look what happened when I left him alone for 10 minutes today…

SERIOUSLY?! UGH.

I told him I wasn’t happy because he made a mess—and that he shouldn’t take Katie’s clothes out of her drawers, but reasoning with a toddler is pointless at best. I also told him he had to help me pick it all up, so he handed me a few pieces and then he was done. 😐 I didn’t even have the energy to finish dealing with it right then…but he’ll definitely be helping me pick it all up later.

Of course, he followed it up with something super cute…but I was still fuming a bit over the mess.

And THEN he does something super sweet…Katie was crying so he grabbed the bottle and started to feed her.

Ahhh, life with a toddler. From utter frustration to melting heart in five minutes…
