It was hard saying goodbye because we had soooo much fun and soooo many laughs and we all get along soooo well.
But we’re counting the days until Kelly hopefully comes back to Chicago this ssummer—and we have a birthday girls weekend to plan for September!
Our friend Kelly really needed our support during a rough patch so we decided a girls long weekend was in order!
Somehow we managed to have the only empty seat on the plane in our row! We definitely took advantage!
She got a can of dog food for her gift! We had to hold Ivy while it happened otherwise there would have been chaos!
Since they get along so well, they’ll be sleeping together now!
Northern Illinois Music Conference
Thankfully it wasn’t too far to Highland Park Middle School—and they looked pretty alert for 8am.
Between performances we just hung around the library/cafeteria area with Lucas’ parents. It’s a really nice school.
Owen’s big ensemble did The Entertainer and it was really good!
After the performance, the judge gives them a few tips and suggestions and has them practice some bars again to see the difference. It’s really neat.
Owen has a band solo ensemble this morning—half an hour away plus he plays first at 8am and we’re supposed to be there 45 minutes prior. So my alarm went off at 5:30. I’m already looking forward to my nap this afternoon. 😂

Owen couldn’t find the black shoes we bought him for band concerts so Tom went up to his room…and piled ALLLLL the dirty clothes on his bed to make searching easier. They still didn’t find them so who knows where they are.
We wanted to try it after seeing tons of ads for it—we were intrigued. So we finally forked over $10 for a box and…meh.
As you can see — the bag is only half full. And it was a smaller box to start. The taste was okay — it definitely didn’t taste like the sugar cereals of our youth like they claim. That said, it wasn’t bad…but I wouldn’t waste your money on this unless you really REALLY specifically needed this type of product and just couldn’t live without cereal.
Plus Olive is whining to get in my lap.
Okay I’m done, now it’s naptime.
I realized we need more desk space, so now Tom is building an 11′ desk for the other wall!
I just happened to be sitting on the couch (Nott my normal seat) add looked up. Oh. My. We were going to take them down at one point but got sidetracked. ..
