I love my new chair…

And my dog…

So as I’ve grown older I have come to the realization that I’m not an April Fool’s person. I just don’t like being made a fool of and/or making other people unnecessarily uncomfortable. I’m also not very good at it and it’s just another thing to suck my time at Pinterest. 😂
That said, I love the fake ads or commercials that companies usually come out with—because I like clever (but I’ve been busy all day and haven’t seen any today). I feel kind of badly that I don’t even do anything fun for my kids like “jello juice” or frozen milk for their breakfast. But I guess there’s still time, right? They’re only 10 and 6.
So do you DO April Fool’s Day? Or are you a curmudgeon like me?

April 24 marks my official 2-year anniversary. It seems like just yesterday and forever ago at the same time!
I’ve lost track of what Spring Break day it is, I just know it’s margarita time y’all. (No I haven’t even showered yet. It’s that kind of day.)

We took Owen in for his random stomach aches (thinking it might be constipation again) but he got the all clear after x-rays. So not sure what’s going on…

We came home from a play date with friends and the kids wanted to go across the street and play with the three neighbor boys. They went over and the kids weren’t home but the dad offered to take Katie and Owen to them—they were at a local gaming place. They were both willing to spend their own money to do it so I then offered to pay for them, thinking that they would be able to play a multiplayer game with the other boys instead of being limited to two people per game like they generally are at home on the Xbox.
Fast forward to receiving this picture from the dad and this is what was going on: everybody was on a different computer doing something different. In other words, paying for exactly what they could be doing at home for free. so we had a conversation about that when they got home. Katie spent two hours on YouTube and Owen played by himself for two hours which is just an insane waste of money.
Kids.

☀️I kinda got to sleep in today…not as late as I’d hoped but at least it was after 5. But I did hear Tom home so that confused me… Turns out he tried pullups yesterday and screwed up his screwed up back. I tell him quit exercising so he doesn’t kill himself. I mean duh. 🤪
☀️ Then we realized Owen needed to go to the doctor but my only choices for appointments were in 20 minutes (impossible) or tomorrow at 8 (yuck). It’s a good thing he’s not critically sick.
☀️Then it was off to get my nails done and I ended up with about the same color I’d had one time before which is fine but not quite what I wanted but didn’t realize until it was too late. #firstworldproblems

☀️ My next stop was a new (to me) liquor store because we are out of Absolut Peppar and it’s crucial for Bloody Marys and regular stores don’t seem to carry it. Of course I checked out the margarita selection because duh.

☀️ Then a nearby playground with the kids and a friend because it’s 60-freaking-degrees and unbelievably I was actually almost too warm sitting in the sun. Like I had to take off my cardigan too warm. But I wasn’t complaining.
☀️ And lastly home to sit in my new hanging chair to enjoy the weather and read a book, at which point the sun went away and it got too cold without a coat. (Now I’m complaining.) 😂

I just love waking up at 5am because I’m now too damn warm (I was freezing when I went to bed) and then I hear Tom and then I have to pee and then my mind starts running…and now I’m up for good. On spring break when I could literally sleep in until 9 if I wanted. 😡

We planned to go for the whole day (with friends!) but Owen’s stomach started hurting so we had to bug out after about two hours.

So if you remember I had a mammogram a little while back. I don’t care about them, they are no sweat, who cares, just another day. I got a phone call a day or so later saying everything looked good on my bloodwork, so I forgot about it.
Well, if you can guess where I’m going with this… About 5 days later I get a registered letter from the hospital and…I was getting called back for further evaluation. So, the other call was obviously ONLY for bloodwork and NOT the mammogram…which makes sense now, but when you have been to the hospital four out of five days for many different appointments, there could be confusion.
Thankfully I am not one to spiral and I did not even google anything…but still, I won’t lie, there was that moment of panic. So I had to wait for my PCM to call back with a consultation order and then I got to schedule the callback mammogram.
The day of I still wasn’t really worried or concerned. I knew the likelihood of finding anything was low, but in the back of my mind…the niggling voice was still there… What if??? Which got worse as the ultrasounds continued (they had to do each side) and then it was over and I was waiting for the doctor.

He came in within five minutes and said straight up “You’re all clear. Everything is benign. See you in a year!”
Phew.
My new glasses, that is.

We have a new fire pit so for our first fire of the season we burned one last fire in the old one.
Also, for it being Spring Break Day 2, it wasn’t too bad—just a few minor issues with the kids. But I was still going to have a margarita, though. Because duh.

The kids liked my new egg chair.

Owen doesn’t really fit on his ATV anymore and he’s wanted a Segway for awhile, so when we were able to grab one for free to try out and review, we jumped at it! He practiced in the basement and actually got pretty good, so today was his first real world experience. I’m amazed at how good he is!!

I even did a Facebook live of it…
And of course Katie wanted to try but she’s too light so Tom helped a bit.

I even got on (holding Tom for dear life) for about 10 seconds and that was enough to know I didn’t need to do it again. 😂
I held out until just now… The glass might say OH FOR 🦊 SAKE. 😂

Seriously, what are the odds? I guess I’ll be up a little later than planned tonight.

Katie wanted to spend her own money on this hair piece at Lego and then of course I had to wear it. I’ll do a lot when I have a margarita in hand. 😂
The kids are already annoying me.

We thought it would be a fun after Parent Teacher conferences thing to take the kids to get a free DQ cone… It was delicious.

Both kids had student-led conferences. Owen needs to work on his presentation skills and info presented as his answers were like:
What are you good at?
Everything.
What is your goal?
To be the best at everything I do.
What do I need to work on?
Nuttin
I’m pretty sure he’s trying to be funny…but we talked to his teacher and she said she had zero complaints or worries about him. He listens, pays attention, doesn’t get distracted, has lots of friends…
Katie is doing great, too. She filled out her self-evaluation that she didn’t like math, spelling, or reading—which both us and the teacher thought odd since she’s great at all three. You could even see her demeanor change when talking about it. Her teacher even asked where the other Katie was. It’s so frustrating. She obviously knows, for example, her math facts (tests show it). But at home when she’s doing homework she flails when trying to answer 7+4 or 12-3 and gives us ridiculous answers like “I DON’T KNOW. 50?”
She also showed us her Kindness Quit square that was hanging in the main hallway.

Her teacher said she’s doing very well and is very smart and helpful. We just have to figure out the math and reading thing.
Orange pineapple!! I’m starting with two. Hoping they are just as delicious as my favorite Strawberry Lime…

Decent, but not even close to my fave.
Testing out a new sign!

You can’t see it but I’m holding a margarita. SURPRISE! 😂 Ready for a Saturday Night Dinner!!

This was originally a live video on Facebook. I had just finished a work event during which I had been drinking margaritas and it turns out I was a bit drunker than I thought when I came downstairs…so I decided it would be the perfect time to taste test some Oreos we had. It just makes me laugh.
