I know I’ve bitched about this before, but Amazon is on crack when they figure your Amazon Seller shipping credit. I should only sell media because the media mail prices are pretty close—but anything else you get screwed on.
I sold a toilet seat this week. If I just shipped the box AS IS, exact size, no extra packaging, straight from the USPS site it gives me a price of $15.03 (so once I add packaging and insurance since it’s going to Alaska and I figure it has a higher chance of being destroyed), I’m at $17 and change.
Their credit to me? $8.49. Less than HALF of what it actually cost me.
PATHETIC.
As they say:
Amazon collects a per-item shipping fee from the buyer and passes it on to help cover your shipping costs.
Help cover. Yeah, I guess you could say that.
I know I didn’t have to sell it via Amazon, and I still made money, but it just pisses me off.
