After being here three years, we finally decided to go to the beach (other than to take out-of-state visitors there to show them the ocean)! We went with a friend of ours (Jen) and her daughter (Isabelle)…and we took Maggie! We had a great time—Jen was thrilled because she actually got to swim (while either Tom or I watched Isabelle), Maggie had fun snarfing in the sand and playing in the water (plus, as a bonus, she got really tuckered out so she slept really well last night), and we all enjoyed an absolutely picture-perfect day with the most perfect weather (I think it may have been 85 at the most). The only downsides are that I lost my sunglasses (I’ve always worn them in the water, but a big wave caught me off guard) and we all got a little red. But, we had a good enough time that we definitely want to go back again!!
