Staples be gone!

Today is my follow up #pissygallbladder appointment to get my staples removed. I’m wondering if the doctor will even recognize me. If only I had my CCTM in the hospital I would have looked MUCH different.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when removing the staples but I honestly wasn’t expecting him to just pull them straight out! It didn’t hurt and it makes sense that’s how they do it but it was just weird.

I asked about the sizes of the gallbladder and stones because they were supposed to give me pics and never did. First he said the big one was the size of a marble but then he said the size of a small egg. And the other ones (which were hundreds?) were the size of small peas. I’m not sure he knows/remembers/cares but regardless, that’s a ton.

Look at me looking all normal!

Today was the kids’ dual birthday pool party and I was happy that I felt good enough to put on a face! (Don’t worry, I didn’t over-exert myself—I literally sat at a picnic table the whole time…but more about the party on the next post!)

  • CCTM Light Medium and Light Powder
  • Champagne Shimmer and Pink Ruby Shimmer ShadowSense on eyes
  • Pink Ruby Shimmer as blush
  • Clove ShadowSense as contour
  • UnderSense Primer and regular black Mascara
  • Glow Gloss

HAPPY 4TH, Y’ALL!

I decided to do a full blue eye with red lips to have a more normal-looking eye instead of a red/white/blue look!

  • Face: CCTM and Light Powder with Clove ShadowSense contouring
  • Eyes: Sapphire Shimmer and Lapis Glitter with Warm Gold Shimmer highlights.
  • Cheeks: Red ShadowSense
  • Lips: Hurricane Red with Prism Gloss

Also? I officially suck at doing other people’s makeup. Especially crazy holiday looks. I didn’t quite mean it to end up like this but oh well. She doesn’t care so it’s all good.

Anna also came over to do a holiday look with my colors since she doesn’t own them (she thought blue was too scary). She looked gorgeous!

And my glitzy earrings that I love!

Shitshow to Glam!

After today’s shitshow (peeshow?) of a day, I really didn’t feel like getting dressed and putting on a face…but we were meeting friends for dinner so it had to happen!

And just look what happened?! Super quick and easy look:

  • CCTM and a touch of Buff
  • Smoked Topaz brows
  • Buttercream Shimmer & Copper Rose Shimmer eyes (with some CRS below)
  • Black pencil liner
  • UnderSense and black mascara
  • Ember Pearlizer cheeks
  • Translucent powder
  • 1 Bella/2 Precious Topaz lips with a center highlight of Chocolate Copper

And look at those amazing earrings from a boutique that I love? I normally don’t do big earrings but… I’m in love.

Happy Memorial Day

So I’m just hanging in my egg chair relaxing and waiting to head to a friend’s house for a BBQ. I’m glad it’s not 95° but it might be nice if it was at least sunny.

Oh and I might have done a crazy eye look… that actually turned out not too bad!

First, the before and after:

Then the before and after with no mascara and then with the amazing fake lashes… Lashes really add so much to a look—and even tone down crazy to make it look better!

And last but not least, the full look!

P.S. I’m on day six of the blowout!

Do you think makeup is just too hard?

Seriously, though…

When you don’t know how to wear makeup and you see other people seem to do it effortlessly, you get super frustrated and think it’s just too hard or you’re just a failure. Right? Well it isn’t and you’re not.

  • I didn’t know foundation should (and could!) look invisible while also providing coverage.
  • I didn’t know that the correct skincare can actually make your makeup look and last better.
  • I didn’t know that it got easier and quicker with practice — and that great products make it that much easier.

I’m sure it wasn’t just me, either — we all thought we were doing it right. But I’ve learned a thing or two over the years — and it hasn’t just transformed me on the outside. I have more confidence and self-assuredness.

If you want to see the things I’ve learned — and have some fun along the way — I’d love to have you come join Living Lippy with Jen!

I matched my eye colors to my shirt!

My mom, stepdad, me, and the kids are headed to Chicago today to check out the National Ukrainian Museum (we are part Ukrainian) so I felt I needed to wear something more than my typical Saturday garb of yoga pants and a hoodie.

I matched my eye colors to my shirt—two limited edition colors, Seafoam Shimmer (sadly, no longer available) and Sapphire Shimmer (happily, still available)! Not everyday colors but they definitely work with this!

Happy Inauguration Day!

I felt today was momentous enough I needed to do a patriotic eye look! But hmmm… What red lippy to wear for this momentous day?

It was a tough call between Fly Girl and Hurricane Red…but I went with Fly Girl! Let’s get this inauguration going! (If you want any of the awesome products I used for this look, check out https://www.senegence.com/livinglippy!)

I’m not a political person at all, but after the last four years, I felt like I needed to watch in solidarity. And it was honestly more emotional than I thought it would be. At one point during the ceremony I was crying—and Owen noticed and came and held my hand (which made me cry a little more because the last time he did that was when he was little and came to hold my hand during one specific scene in Tangled).

Of course Owen being Owen he had a million questions but I was trying to listen to everything so I had to keep telling him I’d answer everything later!

Challenge accepted!

So this morning a friend was having fun with the SeneLook app and I joked not to tempt me because I could do that look. So then another friend challenged me to make it a totally wearable daily look.

So here’s the look!

It isn’t perfect by any stretch—I need more blending, I need a liner and probably fake lashes, and the lips are too gold (I think I need to do an ombre)…but overall it’s not bad at all! 😂

Regardless, it was fun and really didn’t take that long!

Let the festivities begin.

5:25pm — Anna and David and the kids came over. Anna and I needed to do our makeup so we had a shot and then…

6:13pm — Next-level New Year’s Eve makeup!

7:10pm — Then we cooked and ate a delicious Hello Fresh dinner.

10:39 — Rum punch down!

10:55pm — Look at this cute little family, LOL.

11pm (Midnight EST) — Small fireworks! We did it for the kids but they didn’t even care.

11:04pm — Adult champagne celebration.

My Christmas Eve look(s)!

I started with Pink Champagne lips and it looked okay…but that color is really just too light for me.

So since I am trying to redo ALLLL my color collage photos, I tried two other colors. My favorite is the Sheer Berry.

But check this out. I had Anna try the same Pink Champagne color and look at how different it looks! That’s simply due to the different color of our lips—hers are much more pigmented then mine!

She can stop growing up now.

We did a thing tonight!

I let her wear LipSense now and again and today was one of those days—and she always picks Skyline! So tonight I decided to just start adding some makeup…I’m not great at it (I’m barely good at it on myself) but she didn’t care and loved everything. I can’t believe she’s only 8.

I even made her do the full makeup removal and face washing routines to hopefully show her it’s not all fun so she won’t want to do it. We’ll see.

Who knew I actually liked Honey Rose?!

Honestly this lip color isn’t one of my go-tos and I think it’s a bit more of a spring or summer color but I grabbed it this morning anyway and frankly I’m kinda loving it. You just never know. Tastes change. Lip colors look different with different clothes and different color makeup. So today I’m totally rocking it!! The blue sweater doesn’t hurt either!!

My small win for the day!

I love it when a random clothing purchase (the gorgeous tank top I got in my favorite online boutique) just happens to match one of my favorite Lularoe cardigans. ❤️ I’m also legit stuffed into a pair of jeans today for the first time in two or so weeks just to see if I could. They’re not super comfy but I can still button and zip them so I’m calling it a win.

Bingo! A super easy, super fast look.

I swear. Most mornings I say “I’m just going to put some CCTM on!” And then, well, I have to do my brows. And really, shadow just takes like a minute or two. And since I have the darker shadow out I’ll just use that for a quick blush. And now that pretty much my whole face is done, I have to do my lashes and I HAVE to use Primer. But I drew the line today at LipSense and just did gloss!

I rocked Britt’s makeup world!

So today we did a thing. Britt is a busy mom of two littles and came to me bare-faced hating her skin…and left with such a HUGE smile on her face and LOVING her new easy look in colors she never would have picked. New to her? Pink shadow. Darker pink lips. Filled in brows. It was so exciting watching her discover how great she looked in these products and the awe she experienced looking at herself. And she was amazed how great they worked compared to her $$$ products.

P.S. I kinda hate how amazing her lashes look and I will now be attempting to apply my own mascara exactly like she did because wowza.

P.P.S. Yes we forgot a before photo. 😣
