It’s snowing and rainy and 42° so of course it must be the first day of baseball! And as I write this it has started hailing.

And then it got even colder.

We had an away game which means we’d be gone for like 4 hours so we took Olive to Anna’s so she could play with Honey. She always ends up in the front seat.
I haven’t posted much about baseball this fall season… Tom is coaching again. They’re about 50-50 for wins and lossses. Owen isn’t pitching but it still liking first base…and has been catching more!
It was a wee bit chilly. Katie even stayed in the car!
Tom said there was some whining throughout the race – and there was some walking – but everyone finished!
Owen’s first concert with his new instrument, the bari (baritone) sax!
I thought we’d try taking Olive to the baseball game so she didn’t have to stay cooped up—plus it was nice weather and Katie promised to take care of her.
Ha. Haha.
I mean overall she was good, but she went crazy if dogs came near her. And Katie quit about 45 minutes in. So this might be the heat time we take her…
Finally tuckered out right as the game was ending. Of course.
I took Olive on a walk this morning and had to stop and marvel at the fall scene down the street.
All photos and captions are from Gramma Jean!
Tom and Dave took Owen and Evan to Milwaukee for a major league baseball game!
We thought she was a Turtle 2 for the last while… But turns out she was a Shark 1, so today she graduated to Shark 2! So now we have two Shark 2 swimmers!
Our two fishes are back to swim lessons at British Swim School! We are so happy we discovered BSS back in Virginia when they were just babes!
After an hour drive, the only bad thing about our free Vettix tickets are that we were in the bleachers in the sun. If we came again, we’d spring for actual seats…in the shade!!
It was hot…so Tom got me a margarita!
And the kids got Dipping Dots!
Katie desperately wanted to bring Olive to the baseball game…so we let her.
And then look who ended up being Olive’s bed for most of the game?
And I’m so bummed—look what I noticed!! Olive is losing her olive on her paw.
Remember this is what it used to look like:
And then since she was with us, we had to find an outdoor patio to eat lunch after baseball… She was such a good girl!
And what Katie does during baseball.
They are fun to listen to…but it was a good half hour too long (due to the teacher talking so much about irrelevant things).
You never know what weather you’re going to have for baseball. We’ve had perfect weather and both cool and warm days but today was downright cold (you can’t see my blanket in this photo but trust me it’s there).
I missed the first few games because of weather and Owen being sick…but today was gorgeous! And we won!
I also don’t take as many photos these days…so this is all you get!
I told her to take a book to baseball and she did…and actually read it!
The band boosters got these shirts for the kids! Can you see Owen?
Typically this would be in person but Zoom is still the way of life for a lot of events. So we were all on the stage in the Cafe watching while the kids played in front of the judges on a huge screen!
Grandma and grandpa and the Chang-Yens were able to be there so Owen was excited about that!
I did not want to go outside. It was gray and windy and 25° and my feet hurt. But I made an effort. Not my best day but better than staying on the couch.
I keep wondering “Was I this slow way back when?” Because of course I can only remember the good times from when I was thin and speedy.
So I’m just telling myself I’m happy I’m out moving.

We aren’t setting any land speed records but I’m getting out there! (We also stopped for about 7 minutes to play Pokemon.)
Tonight was the first time the middle school jazz band has been in person since before the Covid lockdown! They performed at the high school with their jazz bands (well, not WITH, but at the same event).
To be honest I wasn’t sure what to expect—especially when the band director said they’d only had 14 practices together. But they were actually quite good!
Now that the basement is picked up, we have room for this gymnastics bar and she’s in heaven!
The UM/MSU game was crazy toward the end. This is pretty much how both of them watched it.
We decided to take a walk in our amazing neighborhood during Sparty halftime since it was such a nice day. (Also, one of these things is not like the other.)
