Two kids in the police car
We’ve been debating selling the police car because Owen just never uses it—we practically have to force him to drive it. We mentioned selling it and he kinda freaked out saying he loved it. So we told him if he used it, we’d keep it. It would kill me to get rid of it since it was EXPENSIVE and he WANTED IT…but I hate to move it if he’s not going to use it (since there’s lots fewer places to drive it at the new place). I had hoped Katie would like it, but thus far she’s been mostly scared of it. So Owen got in it today…and had A BLAST. And after watching Owen in for about 20 minutes, Katie wanted to get in…and boy did they have fun.

Katie was swinging and Owen asked if he could, too. (Of course he doesn’t need to ask but he does.) This wasn’t quite what I expected:

I’m glad they’re enjoying the swings…but why did Owen have to start liking them NOW? A year after we got the playset and a month before we have to sell it? See? The guilt. 🙂

First sprinkler fun of the season!
After yesterday’s water fun, we told the kids they could play outside in the water again since it was going to be nice—they just had to wait until after Katie’s nap. This was actually Katie’s first ever time in a sprinkler—and of course she LOVED it!

I didn’t really want to get wet, so I ran inside to get my telephoto lens. Ahhhh, much better!
It was at this point that Owen accidentally broke the sprinkler—he was attempting to jump over it but instead landed right on it. He wasn’t hurt but we told him that he had to be careful. Then Tom went over and determined that yes, it really was broken, so he turned the water off so he could unhook it while he went to look for a new sprinkler. And Owen lost his shit. He started crying and screaming uncontrollably. We tried to get him to tell us what was wrong (Was he really hurt? Was he mad at Tom? Was he just upset the water was turned off?) but he wouldn’t even quiet down enough to hear anything we were saying. We assured him he wasn’t in trouble and that it was an accident but he just wouldn’t settle down. We had about 10 minutes of what you see below. Tom did find another sprinkler and hooked it up and Katie kept trying to get Owen to come over to it, but he was still being a poop. It took another 10 minutes or so before he was finally back in the groove.
Someone loved playing in the mud puddles created by the sprinkler! 🙂
Morning Siblings
From April 11 that I forgot to post. It will move to that date eventually. 🙂
The letter T
The kids were watching Sesame Street and Tom came downstairs for something and I heard him say “Wow there’s kids all over the floor!” Turns out, Owen was trying to get Katie to make the letter of the day. 🙂

Owen came up and asked me to tie his B around his neck. Within seconds, Katie brought me her baby B and wanted me to do the same thing. 🙂
Introducing the kids to Star Wars
Owen has been playing Lego Star Wars for months now, so Tom thought it was time to show him the movie. Katie was originally on my lap, completely riveted. Then I moved her to Tom’s lap and she sat still and watched for a good 30 minutes. Owen was super into it as well. Daddy was a happy guy. 🙂

Cuddle buddies for a sick Owen
I’m not sure what’s wrong with him (kids really need to come with a digital readout) but he’s just had a low-grade fever (99-100°) for a few days and we keep giving him Advil for that and an on/off headache; otherwise he seems fine. But today he was resting…and had some cuddle buddies. 🙂
