Why can’t she sleep this well at night?

Why can’t she sleep this well at night?

In all honesty, I’m only up now because I had to put some samples on the giving tree for a customer this morning.
I may or may not have had too much tequila last night. I didn’t think so at the time, of course, and I did take Tylenol before bed…but yeah. It was too much. But! It was a super fun night. And yes, I did remove my makeup and wash my face before bed!
Testing out a new SenGence LipSense—Diva from the Ultra Intense Matte Collection!
I totally wasn’t expecting to like it…but I actually FREAKING LOVE IT.

I looooove hair washing and straightening day! I mean, I hate having to do it 😂 but I love the end result!
I also looooove a quick and easy look using just four products!! I didn’t specifically set out to do a barely there look but it happened and I was fine with it. (I had to jump on a PTA zoom meeting last minute and this was all I had done…then just decided to leave it!)

Face: #cctmlightmedium
Brows: #smokedtopazshadowsense
Cheeks: #silverrosepowderblush
Lips: #solarflaregloss

We did have ulterior motives — we were having an appraisal done to refinance and crap needed to go away! We got rid of a bunch but admittedly just stored a bunch under the house until we have more time to go through it.
But doesn’t it look amazing?!
Now it’s the kids’ job to KEEP it picked up!

Cool colored foam…

And whaaaaat? Fire dry?!

Yep. They aren’t kidding. Fire!

We’re still loving the pizza oven!

How many water glasses did I find in Owen’s room tonight?

I’m not upset since they were just water glasses and I’m often guilty of the same thing… I just thought it was funny.
Waiting to buy phones? No wait at all. Trying to fix problems and get numbers ported? Ugh.

It was probably an hour in hold just to get someone and then the rest fixing and waiting. And we’re still not done.
Hear Tom get up early to make sure the kids get off to school. Roll over and wake up a bit later and work my SeneGence biz from bed until Tom gives me crap about being a lazy butt. Get out of bed making old person grunting sounds. Text BFF off and on all day. Take a shower. Do my skincare and makeup and take photos for future posts. Take kid to appointment. Do random house things—pick up, let Maggie out/let Maggie in, water plants, let Maggie out/let Maggie in, feed Maggie, organize office, do laundry, let Maggie out/let Maggie in/let Maggie out/let Maggie in, give Maggie her meds, clean kitchen, wonder aloud who left six glasses on the kitchen table/who left candy wrappers on the couch/why there are dirty socks everywhere, walk by the kids’ bathroom and lament how disgusting kids are, let Maggie out/let Maggie in, pop into the office to work for a bit. Spend some cuddle time with Maggie on the couch while working my biz. Run errands. Get nails done. Jump in the hot tub with hubby. Watch a TV show with hubby. Try to make the kids do chores when they come home from school. Make dinner for/with friends. Watch a TV show with friends/Tom/kids. Remove my makeup, wash my face, apply nighttime skincare. Take more photos. Go to bed and work my biz from bed.
I kinda love it all and wouldn’t change a thing (minus the old person grunting sounds, the messy kids, and the geriatric dog that goes in and out 28x a day).

We celebrated Tom’s new job with dinner at our favorite restaurant with our best friends…with an after-dinner dueling piano show downstairs in the VIP room, courtesy of the owner giving away free tickets on a local Facebook group!
Things started off innocently enough—and we ran into other friends there—

…but the bartender was making strong drinks and then the owner gave our group a few free drinks…
So then this happened at the end of the night after way too many drinks had been consumed…

I was the designated driver so we all got home safely—and Anna and David ended up staying the night. It was…interesting.
But we all had fun and I was happiest that Anna enjoyed it because she started the night assuming she was going to hate it.

Did you know that all Great Wolf Lodge waterparks are not the same?! I didn’t until this week.

Anna got a steal of a deal on a weekday suite so we took the kids for an overnight surprise before school starts again.
As broken-bodied adults, we were excited about the hot tub (and, to a lesser extent, the lazy river).
Until.
We learned that this particular GWL does not have a hot tub!! WHAAAAAT?! I know, right? Fail. Big BIG fail. Ughhhh.
And then we learned that the lazy river (among other things) wasn’t open because they were short-staffed.
GAHHHHHHHH!!!!! 0 for 2 does not make for a happy mom.
But the kids didn’t care. And they ended up opening the lazy river later in the day so Anna and I got to be floating blobs for two hours.
But the water wasn’t warm enough for me and the air temp felt too cold, too. I think maybe I’m too old for this.
After checkout, Anna and I managed to find a somewhat secluded couch to relax while the kids are back in the waterpark. We can actually stay until close (!) but I’m thinking we’ll just stay until lunch!

Of course your have to brush out all her tight curls…

This actually makes me soooo happy because I love that I love my skin and no longer feel the need to wear makeup before taking any pics! (If you want this freeing feeling, too, I’ll hook you up!)
Today has been a day of catching up and finishing the Emerald Extravaganza prizes, lazing around my mom’s house (I didn’t shower until 3p), working on a puzzle, enjoying the silence when my step brother and wife took all the kids to Hartwick Pines, and then enjoying homemade pizza in our Ooni pizza oven that we brought with us!
It’s hard to believe I’ve been working and sharing my makeup and skincare biz for almost 5 years now (!!) and it’s beyond humbling that so many of my friends and acquaintances have chosen me as their makeup and skincare girl.

But…
I hope y’all know it’s more than that to me.
It’s gained confidence.
It’s growth.
It’s showing my kids that you can set HUUUUUGE goals (over and over) and achieve them with hard work!
Friends…it’s a journey I NEVER expected to be on (like seriously, my mom even commented yesterday that l certainly never expected ALL THIS to happen and I wholeheartedly agreed!), yet one of the BEST parts about this journey is…
The new friendships with all of YOU…
And knowing that I’m surrounded by some of the most incredible women out there.
And knowing that I’m making some small part of your lives better.
Thank you just never seems like enough, yet there are no better words.
So… Really and truly from the bottom of my heart…
THANK YOU!
Thank you for the best year ever!
And if you’d like to be a part of my little world where I love on you and help try to make your life a little better…the door at Living Lippy with Jen is always open!

Almost the whole gang—Filipeks couldn’t make it.

Anna and David are watching Maggie for us and these are the pics we got tonight. She’s not loved at all.
