LANSING, Mich. (AP) â Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has proclaimed Friday as âSpartan Green Dayâ in honor of the No. 5 Michigan State football team.
The celebratory day in Michigan is one day before the Spartans play No. 4 Iowa in the Big Ten championship in Indianapolis.

I was putting Owen to bed and he heard what sounded like thunder. I didn’t think we were expecting any storms so I told him I thought it was someone moving their garbage container. And then Maggie appeared, trembling. Maggie never comes in his room…which means it was thunder.
I practically had to carry her out because she desperately wanted to stay there. Poor thing.

Overall it was a great day—the kids all had a blast together, the food was abundant and delicious, and everyone had fun relaxing and playing games. I think it was the right decision to move our Christmas to the middle of summer!
