Olive, Day 3 — alone with mom!

I’m stuck. Send help! Olive’s first nap of the day…at 8:40am. How am I supposed to get any work done?!

Still napping at 9:04 but moved around a bit.

Okay let’s try to work. I thought I could keep her on my lap while I worked. Ha. Nope. She wanted to be IN MY ARMS. So I tried working with one hand.

And then she woke up and wouldn’t settle so I put her in her crate for about 30 minutes. She whined a lot and then I came out to…A HUGE MESS. (I’ll spare you a photo.) But she had pooped on her pad and walked through it.

So I had to wash her blankets and toys and bed…and give her a bath…which she did not like. I actually did it in a mixing bowl because she’s sooo small and our laundry sink is big.

And then she was cold and wiped out so it was nap time again (12:15).

She’s so cute whole she sleeps. Because puppy.

And look at her teeny feets!

Play time! She loves hair!

Nap time again (1:40).

Mom wants me to chew on this instead of her fingers. Boooooo!

Another nap (3:30).

Owen’s home!

A teething ring bigger than her head!

Tom’s turn!

Look what we discovered?! A perfect black dot — an olive?! — on her hind paw!!

Introducing…Olive!

I loved Maggie fiercely and was devastated when we had to put her to sleep earlier this year. I knew we’d get another Boston Terrier eventually, but I wasn’t ready quite so soon (just over two months).

Emotionally I was okay but I was really enjoying having NOTHING to take care of (kids don’t really count as they mostly take care of themselves). Tom wasn’t thinking about that—he just wanted a puppy. But guess who’s going to be home with her ALL DAY EVERY DAY?! (You know if I would have told Tom I was getting him a new daily job he would have said oh hell no, right?!)

That said, I did kind of miss having SOMETHING around the house. And she IS super cute…I’ll give her that. This is the first photo we got of her:

Owen holding Olive’s sister. We actually had to pick from between the two. We picked Olive.
Look at that cute face!
Look at his smile!
Katie’s turn!

We stopped in Normal on the way back and had dinner with Marie and Gabi!

Meeting Anna.
