Official Covid Day 2 report

I slept pretty well. Woke up with a killer headache. Still have a random little cough and some phlegm. I guess I’m a little stuffed up, too. No fever. Really it just feels like being sick.

I’m thankful it’s not a billion degrees outside this morning so I can sit out here and read while the rest of the family is inside…but I already hear my bed calling me.

A few hours later…

Thankfully it’s not unbearable outside so I’m still on the porch. Different egg chair, though, for a bit different view.

And then this happened.

Well, it’s happened.

I tested positive this morning.

Thankfully it’s nothing too awful—a minor sore throat, a random cough, slight body aches (but that could just be me being old), and the worst is a nagging headache but it’s manageable with Excedrin. It really all just feels like an annoying cold. Vaccines and boosters for the win.

The kids feel fine. Tom has tested negative. And apparently dogs can get Covid so if I want to cuddle Olive I need to mask.

At least I have a cute cuddle buddy!

And Katie decided to get out Legos right here. For the first time ever.

I’m out at 61%.

I’m loving getting back into reading—back in my school days I used to read a book every 2 days or so during the summer. Sometimes 2 a day depending on length and whatever else I was doing (like a road trip, camping, or day at the beach).

My goal this year was 12 books—just one a month. And I’m already on book 15! Go me!

So this is my current book—and it had great ratings—but man it’s just NOT my thing. I know I said I don’t finish books that I don’t like, but I also hate having a book unfinished in Goodreads. I managed to make it to 61% complete but I’m out.

Olive came to baseball!

Katie desperately wanted to bring Olive to the baseball game…so we let her.

And then look who ended up being Olive’s bed for most of the game?

And I’m so bummed—look what I noticed!! Olive is losing her olive on her paw.

Remember this is what it used to look like:

And then since she was with us, we had to find an outdoor patio to eat lunch after baseball… She was such a good girl!
