Chalk on the street
What we often have to resort to since our driveway is so small. (If both cars are home, it’s this or the little bit of sidewalk.)
The end of the play date.
When we came to pick up the kids, we got a good report…and then we stayed to talk to our friends for a bit and this is what the kids looked like:

It started off overcast and cool… We kept our fingers crossed but eventually it was raining. Not fun. But the kids were all doing great!

They did end up calling the game a little over an hour in because it was really coming down. So it was home for warm showers/baths and comfy clothes!

Special breakfast with daddy
Waffles with chocolate sauce, mini marshmallows, and whipped cream! And Katie got sprinkles, too! (Owen is wearing his new batting helmet—we had to get a new one last night because we left his in the minivan which is currently 30 minutes away in the shop getting the XM radio fixed.)

Katie normally has no problem sitting in the cart…except when Owen is there, freely walking around, running, and playing. 🙂
iPad time with daddy
Fine. I’ll close my eyes.
She doesn’t want to take a nap. She needs a nap. Finally: “Fine. I’ll close my eyes.” And got into this position. 😀
She never napped. I came home from my walk (Tom was upstairs) to find her wide awake. Outside with Maggie. With chocolate on her face. STINKER.
Sigh.

She was climbing on the arm of the chair (which she shouldn’t have been) and fell off, bumping her head and arm on the wall and speaker stand. P

I picked Katie up at 4 and we stayed until Owen was done at 5:15. It was 80° and sunny so was a little hot to stay on the playground so we went in to watch Owen…and of course Katie ended up playing, too. 🙂

This was Katie’s first pre-k art project from her first day—it finally came home Friday and it got hung on the art line today!!

Papa and Gannie took the kids to baseball tonight and Owen had his first attempt as catcher (he’s wanted to but he needed a cup…so we finally bought one!). He said he loved it!! (Thanks to Grannie Lin for the pics!)

When I arrived to pick up Katie, I saw a class of kids heading inside. I thought the teacher sounded familiar and it was—Owen’s teacher! I heard her say something about being scientists and they all had notebooks. Mrs. Talley waved and Owen happened to turn around and saw me. 🙂
I didn’t get to ask him about it after school since it was a mad rush to get him ready and out the door to baseball with Papa and Grannie (Tom and I had a retirement dinner to attend) but these pics were posted on Facebook!
