We had to go see the water.
I got my hair cut this morning and we arrived early so we could go Pokémon hunting. Katie wanted to cross the bridge and see the water.
I can’t believe he’s only 7.
After some drama surrounding getting dressed this morning, just look at this handsome devil!
Katie’s Oddish
Katie is a Pokémon addict. She knows all the characters and what they evolve to. She drew an Oddish last night. 🙂

Katie and every play kitchen but ours.
If you recall, she has a play kitchen. But she never used it so we moved it to the basement. Which means whenever she sees a kitchen anywhere else she has to play with it. (This is an on-base playgroup we go to with friends every week.)
Me: Katie, do you want us to bring your kitchen upstairs to play with?
Katie: No.
Of course not.
Visiting her pre-k class!
Today was the “meet and greet” for potential peer models. Even though they’ve already asked us back, they want to see her interactions with others. We had classroom play time first (during which we also happened to have a lockdown drill—Katie did awesome!) and then it was out to the playground where she got to swing and play with her friend Mason from last year.

Happy early birthday to me!
It started out as post-swim lessons dinner but turned into my birthday dinner because Tom is sneaky. 🙂
We all really enjoyed it and we learned Katie doesn’t like caramel sauce and Owen’s favorite is hot fudge. (I was partial to the hot fudge myself, though the caramel was better all by itself.)
On our way out, the kids saw other kids getting their picture taken on the PF Changs horse so they had to do it, too. 🙂

It was a really nice day out, so where did the kids play? Across the street in the neighbor’s driveway. Really guys?!

Soccer Games Saturday
Today was Katie’s first game and she was SUPER excited…new jersey, new shorts, new shoes, new shin guards, and new headband!! Doesn’t she look the part?!
Good Character Award, Grade 2
Owen got the very first Good Character Award in his class (again!) this year—YAY OWEN! (And his teacher let me know the day before so that was a huge bonus for us!!) Second grade is off to a flying start!
The award recipient gets to put the teacher’s hornet seat cover away!

Katie’s first soccer practice!
She was SOOOO excited to be going to soccer! Earlier in the day when I told her to go put on her soccer clothes, I just meant the clothes she would be wearing to practice (which she knew was her mermaid shirt and her black shorts) but she came down FULLY dressed, complete with socks and shin guards! 🙂

He’s having a blast and getting better every game! Also, my mommy guilt got the better of me and Katie starts soccer practice next week…

A new playground with friends
We dragged them to morning program and they dragged us to a new park!
Halley’s first spirit day!
Black and gold for everyone! (Katie and I were planning on going to the morning program so we dressed for it as well. Also, I was excited to finally wear fall clothes!)
Since daddy was home this morning we got him in a pic, too—but he wasn’t spirited.

She then wanted to jump off the play structure that’s 6′ off the ground (that level behind her head). I told her it was too high and she might get hurt.
“No. I’ll just brush off my hands like this.” 😳
So I compromised and held her hand as she jumped. She still fell on her butt, bumped her knee, and was covered in wood chips…but she did it!
