Happy to be Facetiming with daddy!
Tom is in California for a few days so he tries to talk to the kids when he can. Katie gets positively giddy because she misses him sooooo much.

It was sunny so Katie wanted to do chalk…but it was chilly. Hence the winter coat. Of course, chalk only lasted about two minutes and then she was off collecting leaves.

We got a box of Christmas presents today. There were a few small things for the kids to open now. They loved their Santa hats…

I forgot how insanely awful it is. We tried to go to a movie and couldn’t even get IN the parking lot so we just came home. And then I got what I needed… :p

I reached my limit today.
The amount of toys they have that they don’t play with is insane. I dumped out all the bins from the shelving unit and I’m making them pick out their favorite things and the rest is going away. (And this is just upstairs. Ugh.) Happy Thanksgiving?!

Hand-me-down Christmas outfit
The stinker actually took a nap!
Katie was being a bit of a stinker so I sent her to her room. I told her she didn’t have to take a nap and I’d check on her in a bit. I went up about 20 minutes later and found this—she had turned on her sound machine, her nightlight, and crawled into bed. 🙂

Since she was good while I was running a few errands, I let her play at the mall play area for a bit. She LOVES jumping off things.

Owen just got his first phone call from a girl.
OMG. 😯
- He had no idea how to talk on a phone because we apparently only use Skype or FaceTime.
- Apparently they set up a play date at school today and he gave her my number.
- He couldn’t remember what they said and the call only lasted about 28 seconds, if that.
- I gave him a lesson on how to use a phone, she happened to call back, they talked for a few minutes, and she’s calling back when her mom gets home.

Every time we go to the grocery store she asks to ride in the car cart. It’s a big ol’ pain in the ass because it’s so big and awkward so I always say no. But daddy was with us today and he’s a big ol’ pushover. So they played while I shopped. You could hear them halfway across the store, I swear, with as loud as the cart is and her screeching like crazy!

Owen trims and checks expiration dates, Katie glues, and mom supervises. (Daddy was cleaning and organizing the media cabinet to try and fit the Wii in.)
We finally made it to the National Zoo!

These are the kinds of things I constantly run across in our house: Katie put two barbies to bed in one of Tom’s Crocs.

As soon as I got down the boots she had to put them on to be like mommy. And then she picked a purple dress. So we kind of matched.
