Playing before her lesson:
She has reverted back a little from that one day of awesome jumps and floating…she still does well enough, though, and has fun.
Normally she plays after her lesson (while Owen does his lesson) but today she wanted to get dressed. We didn’t bring anything for her to do (since she normally plays in the pool the whole time) so we gave her the camera to take pictures—which she LOVED. These were the best two. 🙂
After we got home, Katie found the minion goggles. She announced herself by saying “Hey! Minion girl right here!”
She was zooming around the field and running full bore into me. I told her to stop because it hurt. This was her reaction.
And as I followed her around (to get a picture), she kept her back to me and kept pouting.
She did this for a good 15 minutes today.
She always wants to comb my hair but I only let her on days that I wash and condition it.
He said it was costume day so we did this (he can’t get in/out of his costumes by himself).

She tried a ham and cheese (no condiment) sandwich—and actually ate most of it!
I decided to make my all-time favorite garlic toast today because the bread was on sale B1G1 at the store.
“Mama, I want to put the water in please.” Except 98% of it didn’t make it in.

I think her issue was she couldn’t get her shoes off while the tutu was down and of course she didn’t want to sit down or ask for help.
I read about this place right after we moved here but it took awhile to actually get there! We went today with friends.
Katie wasn’t AS excited as I thought she’d be, but she did have fun.
Dropping Owen off at his activity camp, Katie has decided she wants to run around.
I asked him to try them on and of course I got posing. 🙂
They’re a size 10 regular! And the waist is good…they’re just a few inches long. He continues to grow taller while not gaining weight! Yay!
They do this all on their own.
When wask what movie Katie wants to watch, half the time she picks her fairy camp video. 🙂

So then of course Katie wanted me to take a picture of her, too.
She got into the pool bag and got out some stick sunscreen…which was all over her. As soon as I say “Miss Katie!” she starts a pout.
She didn’t do as well today with her jumping and floating but she’s still fun to watch.
Katie found a pair of her shoes in our room so of course she had to put them on…and then her and Owen watch the iPad on the floor waiting for me to get out of bed (Tom is usually up with them on the weekends but he had duty last night).
I’ve really been slacking at keeping track of their cute sayings…
When we were on vacation in Michigan, we saw deer cross the road a few times. Katie actually got good at spotting them.
Katie: Mama, when I’m a deer I can pass through those woods.
While Owen was at his weekly activity camp.
Katie: I miss Owee. He’s my favorite buddy.
We were at the Dollar store when Owen came up to me wearing this.
Owen: Mom! Take a picture of me!
Putting Owen to bed, I see him rubbing his eyes.
Me: You’re tired, buddy.
Owen: No, my eyelashes just hurt.
Katie did amazing at swim class today! (We were here on a Saturday for a makeup lesson.)
And Owen actually had a one-on-one lesson so he got a lot of practice in—and did well with his side-breathing.

I opened Katie’s door in the morning so she could just come downstairs when she woke up. But then we heard her walking around…and she wasn’t coming down. I went up to find this—she was in Owen’s room with his bank contents strewn about. She’s hanging her head because she just got a “no ma’am” and command to pick it all up. Being stubborn, she refused—and consequently lost her iPad privileges for the day.

He has been researching for awhile now so this wasn’t totally out of the blue…but it was a quick decision (the dealer only had this one on the lot and wasn’t getting anymore and it was a decent deal—and someone else was coming to look at it that night). We hated to spend the money, but really wanted to trade his 2008 Prius in before it lost too much more value or required major work like hybrid battery replacement.
The car is quite cool, though I’ve only had a quick ride around the block thus far (he got home about 8:15). Tom loves it—it’s a HUGE upgrade with extras like Bluetooth and leather seats that he’s thrilled about. I kinda hate him because it’s orange and I’m the one who really loves neat colors…but I’m excited because I’ll actually drive it (I never really liked the Prius).
The only minor snag in the process is that I can’t find the title to his Prius. Normally my recordkeeping is SPOT ON but it’s nowhere—it’s not in the safe and it’s not in the file cabinet…and there’s not even a scan of it anywhere! I have an old title (with the first lienholder still on it) scanned into Evernote but that’s it. And oh yeah, of course I can’t find the lien payoff letter, either. WTF??
I know it can be resolved, but now it’s going to be a PITA. What gets me is that I scan everything like that into Evernote—or at the very least, my computer. And there’s nothing. NOTHING. I know we got the lein release letter but can’t recall receiving the title. To be missing one of them maybe…but both?!
The kids were SUPER excited! We went for a short ride around the block and they were practically giddy!
So she covered my laptop in Doc McStuffins stickers. She’s lucky they came off easily. 🙂
Owen didn’t have activity camp this week so we did this instead! They played while I walked around the path for my mile walk!
Today he brought a shield and sword.

Her same friend was back—this time with a scooter. Katie desperately wanted to use the scooter, but didn’t want to actually move on it. 🙂
We were on the way to the playground when Owen noticed we all had the same shoes!
Owen tells Katie to sit like this when they get in the car, so when I come around to buckle her in, this is what I see. They love it.
She has no fear of leaving me…when it’s on her terms.

Owen had made a friend, too—running around the track while the kid biked. 🙂 I love that they make “friends” so easily!
