Surprise! A new Cinderella dress!
Friends gave us a Cinderella dress because it was too big for their kids. This is me surprising Katie with it.

Good morning! Oh wait, a tantrum about donuts. Yay.
For some unknown reason, she had it in her mind that daddy was getting her donuts for breakfast…and this is what happened when I told her that wasn’t happening. (I asked Tom later if he mentioned anything about donuts at any time and he said he didn’t even say the word.)
Just until daddy gets home.
It’s storming and she’s scared…so I get cuddles. I had Owen, too, but he left since Katie was crowding him. But Katie told me as soon as daddy gets home she’s cuddling with him. #daddysgirl

I asked Katie if she wanted to sing Happy Birthday to a friend so I could record it and she said yes. Here’s what happened. 🙂

Katie gets to play for a bit at Ikea while I shop. I really only needed 10 minutes to grab one thing but she LOVES the play area and doesn’t always get to go (they’re often full with a wait list) so I let her today.

She never wants tails anymore. But she had gymnastics this morning so maybe that’s why she let me.
Our first nice day in awhile!
It’s the first really nice day we’ve had so I took the kids to the library playground and walked two miles while they played.

Potato people for Gramma Jean
I had to ship something to Gramma Jean in Florida so I asked Katie if she wanted to draw a picture to send. I got an immediate and emphatic YES!! She raced to the drawing table and did this.
As she drew the first body, she says “A potato!” 🙂 Then she continued drawing and talking: “Two eyes. Two ears. Two arms.” It was so cute.

Valentine’s Gifts
Katie got a Keurig for her kitchen so she can make coffee for daddy…
And Owen got a Valentine’s Lego set and home-printed cards for his favorite iPad game (which we cut out and laminated). If you can believe it, the cards were his favorite thing and he forgot all about the Legos for an entire day!

I finally let her ride in the cool cart.
I hate these carts so rarely let her ride in one. They’re just heavy and super awkward to maneuver. But this small one magically appeared at Marshall’s today (it’s never once been there so I think it somehow migrated from another spot in the mall) and she begged me with sugar on top so I relented. You gotta love that smile. 🙂
She was just too cute for errands.
I’m so glad she loves wearing hats. Mittens are sometimes a harder sell but she apparently likes her new fuzzy mittens.
