She always wants to sit in it (like she used to do when she was little) but it’s a different table plus she’s too big…so she “rinses” her feet in it.

On Mondays if it’s nice when I pick Katie up, we stay and play at the playground while waiting for Owen to finish his after school athletics program. She loves it.

When we came to pick up the kids, we got a good report…and then we stayed to talk to our friends for a bit and this is what the kids looked like:

It started off overcast and cool… We kept our fingers crossed but eventually it was raining. Not fun. But the kids were all doing great!

They did end up calling the game a little over an hour in because it was really coming down. So it was home for warm showers/baths and comfy clothes!

Waffles with chocolate sauce, mini marshmallows, and whipped cream! And Katie got sprinkles, too! (Owen is wearing his new batting helmet—we had to get a new one last night because we left his in the minivan which is currently 30 minutes away in the shop getting the XM radio fixed.)

This is what happens when I take them both to Costco.
Katie normally has no problem sitting in the cart…except when Owen is there, freely walking around, running, and playing. 🙂
Fine. I’ll close my eyes.
She doesn’t want to take a nap. She needs a nap. Finally: “Fine. I’ll close my eyes.” And got into this position. 😀
She never napped. I came home from my walk (Tom was upstairs) to find her wide awake. Outside with Maggie. With chocolate on her face. STINKER.
Sigh.

I think her boo boos are the only time I get cuddles anymore.
She was climbing on the arm of the chair (which she shouldn’t have been) and fell off, bumping her head and arm on the wall and speaker stand. P

I picked Katie up at 4 and we stayed until Owen was done at 5:15. It was 80° and sunny so was a little hot to stay on the playground so we went in to watch Owen…and of course Katie ended up playing, too. 🙂

This was Katie’s first pre-k art project from her first day—it finally came home Friday and it got hung on the art line today!!

Finger painting at school!
When we got back from the field trip, Katie got to create her artwork folder…which necessitated finger painting. She had a blast! And I’m glad she gets to do it at school because the thought of that mess at home makes me cry. 🙂
Then we saw Owen coming back from recess:
And just because there wasn’t already enough paint…another color!
And then I made the mistake of telling her to make a handprint. Well, she smacked her hand down and this happened (except about four times as many dots):
Anne (our friend who works in Katie’s class) assured me it was washable, but when a baby wipe—generally known to clean most anything—didn’t work, I got concerned. I found the label:
You see that? Washes out of most surfaces and fabrics. Egads. Of course that would be my luck with my brand new coat. (That said, I washed it as soon as I got home and thankfully it did come out.)
And the final product! I can’t wait to see the finished (dried) folder they make out of it!

This little boy in his old-timey cap just cracked me up. I love this pic—they look like an old married couple being forced to sit for a photo. 🙂
