Katie loves chalk!
This is one area Katie definitely differs from her brother—she loves drawing at a much younger age! She saw the chalk sitting out and wanted to use it…so we went out to the driveway and she Had. A. Ball.
The tongue is out!
“Here, mama!”
She was scooting all over, legs and feet going a mile a minute…
And then she’d lay her face right down on the driveway…
She was covered.
Then she stuck her hand in the exhaust pipe and was covered in black. 🙂
She did this by herself! No prompting from me!
I wish I was this cute in the morning.
Tonight they got a wine bath.
Another nice day, another stop at the playground
Katie walked over to the swings and said “Mama swing peas” so I put her in. Then she’d say “Mama swing!” So I would swing next to her and she’d say “Thank you mama!” Every. Single. Time. So I’d get off my swing, go over and push her high, then she’d say “Mama swing!” And if I didn’t immediately go to my swing, she’d say “Mama swing! Mama swing!” So I’d get on the swing and she’d say “Thank you mama.” How can you resist such cuteness? And she had such great fun swinging in tandem with me…
Just chilling:

Look! A little lizard!
Mommy and Katie bagel bonding time
After dinner swinging
Owen had special daddy time after dinner (he got to play Lego Star Wars) so Katie and I went out to swing!
And then she was pretending to sleep!
And then she wanted to try the big kid swing!
And she was almost swinging herself! You can see her slightly moving her legs the right way!
And getting more comfortable on the bar!
Stinky!!
Like brother, like sister…just a bit apart in age. Owen’s was at 25m, Katie’s was at 20m.

After school outside fun times
I lowered the bar so Katie could reach it to swing.
Then it was off to dig in the new grass. I redirected her to the stone pile. 🙂
Then I looked away for a minute and she was over just laying in the grass, looking at grass or bugs or dirt or something.
Then Owen was telling me stories.
And being cute!
And this video has Owen telling a story, interrupted with me trying to get a good picture (I can take pics while I’m recording) so you can see a little of what it takes to get a good picture of both kids (in reality I think I took about 10).
This was the lucky picture:
More swinging!
Seat stealer!
Super cute boy.

Intrigued by a caged Charlie
Charlie had to go to the vet at 8:30 so I grabbed her at 7am (as she was still groggy from sleeping!) and crated her. When Owen saw her he was very concerned and said he was really going to miss Charlie while he was at school (he never says this).
Then as soon as Katie saw what was going on, it was “Hi Charlie! Hi Charlie! Hi Charlie! Hi Charlie!” complete with waves.
She didn’t want to get up
Katie loves coloring
Awww. Maggie pillow.
You’ll NEVER believe what I found in the driveway!
I’m loving her cute new summer outfits!
The fam watching Star Wars
My efforts since 9am.
I’m exhausted but still need to get at least one more room done. Granted it would be more awe-inspiring had I taken Before shots…but egads were they embarrassing!
We took the glider and ottoman out to sell since we never use it, cleaned out all the stuff that was tossed in before the flooring install (books and toys), took out all outgrown clothes, actually vacuumed, and wiped everything down!
We also took the screen door down so Charlie was very interested.
And Katie was as well—she kept creeping upstairs to see what I was doing…
She loves toys that she can reach now!
Owen’s room wasn’t quite as messy, but his room was full of construction dust. 🙁 I also sorted some clothes and toys for the garage sale and prettied up the books.
