Catching up on 20 years!
What a small world! I posted on Facebook that I was in Ann Arbor at the hospital and my college roommate, Marina, saw it, posted, and long story short, stopped by to catch up! We haven’t seen each other in 20 years (aside from posts on Facebook)!! And I had forgotten…she’s actually a nurse at the main hospital!! What are the odds?!
Here’s us waaaaay back then, at the end of our freshman year (1992):
The Bear tradition continues…
I may have to try again because I am just not feeling these pictures. But if I don’t get around to it, at least I have these. And I took them way back on 11/20 but forgot to post them because I used my real camera!
Me, in probably about 1974 or 1975 at either 1y3m or 2y3m and Katie this year at 4y5m.
My first Instagram photo.
Katie’s very first school picture!
Owen’s second grade school pic!
USMC Ball—2015 & 2016
Look what happened three years ago today…and today (without me having a clue).
Throwback Thursday—Katie

First footie PJs of the season: 2010 and 2016.
Just wow.
I couldn’t decide which one to post so I did both.
Seven years ago.
Pumpkin Playground
The kids didn’t have school today so I wanted to do something fun. There are a lot of fall festivals around but I didn’t want to drive to far…so we went to the same place we went for Owen’s kindergarten field trip and invited friends!
They added rolling tubes since we were last there.
Caitlin braved the tubes before I did.
The boys LOVED it…Katie didn’t want anything to do with it.
Not one picture with either of them actually looking at me!
Owen LOVED the train and spent most of his time here.
And then Katie decided she wanted to go down the slide…with Caitlin.
And this is why I love Caitlin.
Hayride!
Back at the tubes, Katie decided she wanted to try…with Caitlin.
Then I finally got in the tube and Liam rolled me down! It was much easier getting in than getting out.
My little pumpkins!
And two Then & Nows:
Lunch with some Texas peeps at Ida Claire!
Ida Claire. Say it. Now say it with a southern accent. Listen. Bingo! I missed it the first few times, too.
This is Brad. He’s a Tivo peep I’ve known forever and met once almost 10 years ago. He’s lost 90# on Naturally Slim.
This is a delicious Bloody Mary. I learned I liked pickled okra.
This is Brad, me, and Smeek (Jeff). I’ve met him a few times before over the years but it’s always good to see him. He’s one of our resident foodies so he picked the place. I also got to try two of his fancy drinks.
And here’s a pic of me and Smeek from 2007 (that last guy is not Brad, unfortunately—it’s Peter):
Here’s Brad from that same weekend, just to complete the group flashback:
And my super delicious lunch. [Thinking about it now, days later, still makes my mouth water.]

A bunch of Then & Nows
Even with the amount of pictures I take, I’m still surprised when I have almost identical shots—without posing—that will work for Then & Now collages.
Seriously…we are cuddling on the couch and I’m scrolling through Timehop and see the pic on the left. So of course we have to do a Then & Now!! I mean really, what are the chances that we would be cuddling on the couch? It rarely happens. But it did.
And I took the tongues-sticking-out photo before I scrolled through and found the old one.
Last one: Results courtesy of Naturally Slim!
Painting 11 years ago…
I can’t stop doing these!
It’s hard to believe how much he’s changed in two short years!
I like it when throwback photos have a good match with current pics.
He won’t fit in the water table anymore so I can’t easily do a recreation!
Cuddling siblings three years ago and today!
The dress in 1991 and 2016.
Okay, folks, who wore it better? Yes, here’s a DOOZY of a Then & Now. I first wore this dress to my high school Senior Awards Night and then to my graduation party (as seen in the photo, 1991). I loved the dress and kept it at my mom’s house all these years, wanting to get back into it someday. And that day was today to celebrate our 15th anniversary! And I traded the single-strand pearls for the pearls I wore with my wedding dress!
Sidenote 1: Owen took the picture from tonight.
Sidenote 2: When Owen saw me working on the collage, he said “WAIT. YOU HAD THAT DRESS 25 YEARS AGO?”
