When you have a FREAKING BLAST doing an…

eyeshadow look LIVE with your clients…and it seems like it’s going to be a HOT MESS but it turns out SOOOOO FREAKINRG GORGEOUS.

But first, the before picture… Ready to go live with my prize wheel and a margarita!

And some after shots… It really did turn out fantastic.

This ended up to be one of my favorite looks I’ve ever done. Could I do it again? Meh…. Probably close but not exact.
▪️Pink Hibiscus Shimmer
▪️Deep Plum
▪️Lapis Glitter
▪️Warm Gold Shimmer
▪️Sandstone Pearl Shimmer
▪️Glacier Glitter
▪️Onyx

Sigh. Now to wash it all off and go to bed…

👩🏻‍🏫 So lessons learned?

  • Sometimes you just gotta wing it.
  • Trust the process and believe.
  • It’s just makeup.
  • Mascara really helps. (It REALLY does help finish a look and make it look better, even when it seems scary.)
  • So do margaritas.

Same colors, totally different look!

Today I had a Lippy Visit with Ann—our old neighbor from North Carolina! We decided to go outside her comfort zone with more powerful colors instead of her typical Moca Java/Candied Cocoa Shimmer… She wasn’t too sure but I think it looks great (and her daughter agreed)!

We both used the same colors on our eyes…
▪️ Sandstone Pearl Shimmer
▪️ Cinnamon Shimmer
▪️ Bandana Shimmer
▪️ Onyx
but my lips are layered and hers are straight Mirage.

Now you can all finally understand what military families go through.

And know that we survive…and you will, too. Also, maybe 20 years of training is why I’m surviving just fine right now (minus eLearning 😂).

People have said “I don’t know how Military families do it”.

Well, now most of the world knows a taste of how it’s done.

Birthdays can’t be celebrated as you like.

Vacations have to be canceled at the last minute.

Not knowing a date you can plan anything.

Emotions all over the place.

Unknown future state of life.

Here’s a plan. No, scratch that, this is the plan. Wait, that’s changing, this is the plan, yes, this is it. Oh, things are more serious than what we thought. The plan is this and we will update you with a revised plan as we go.

All holidays cancelled.

You can’t see your family.

You miss saying goodbye to a person when they die.

You miss a funeral.

You miss a wedding.

You miss your Anniversary.

You either embrace the suck or you lose your mind and happiness.

You can’t see your kids or grandkids.

The government pretty much dictates your life.

People are in danger.

Ok, also, these things are true-

You appreciate what you have.

You make the best of situations.

Dates on a calendar are just that and you celebrate things when you can.

You realize what’s really important in life.

You celebrate 4 holidays/birthdays at once.

You no longer judge people for having Christmas lights/trees up “odd” times of the year because you realize people do what they can, when they can.

Once your life gets back to “normal” you appreciate everything more.

You realize it’s ok there was a not so epic birthday because your perspective has shifted on what’s important.

You lean on your family.

You lean on your friends.

Your normal changes and you adjust.

You’re stronger because of your struggle.

In the end, it will all be ok. Even with tragedy here and there.

You will be stronger in the end of this journey. You will not be able to see it in the storm. You’ll feel weak, defeated and not sure how you can make it. When it’s over and the storm ends, you’ll stand taller, stronger, more capable and appreciative of what you have.

I’m a comeback queen, y’all!

Tonight was my pseudo-upline’s Dominion Virtual Awards. I didn’t get to attend (because I didn’t pay)…but look at what I qualified for?! COMEBACK QUEEN RETREAT! Just 21 people out of maybe thousands?! WHAAAAAT?! I was floored when my friend Breesy sent this screenshot to me!

And remember the awards I mentioned I technically achieved but didn’t get my own certificate because I didn’t pay to attend? Well, they made a one-time exemption with virtual certificates—and my name wasn’t on it (I did it myself!) but here they are!

Personal Volume Court (this means selling a lot)
12 consecutive months SeneSeller (this means ordering $1500+ every month)

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way! I never imagined this little side gig would turn into this…

It’s a Fiesta look!

You guys. Before this month I never (NEVER) would have grabbed three new ShadowSense colors and totally winged it on a live video. 😱😱 WHO AM I?! 🤪 But that just proves what anyone can do with a little practice. I mean seriously, if I can do it, YOU can do it.

🎉 FIESTA COLLECTION
▪️Tierra
▪️Rosa
▪️Lime Shimmer

Also? SeneGence missed an opportunity to call Lime Shimmer Margarita!

Hot mess or success?

Veronica and I had a blast on Zoom this morning both trying to do the same look (we used slightly different colors).

Neither of us ended up even close to the picture so we both considered them fails!! That said, both of ours look respectable and we both have a newfound respect for anyone who can copy a look. It’s hard.

So, did we succeed or was it a hot mess? You be the judge. No offense taken because we both think it was a mess. 

Tom came up with dinner tonight

Introducing naan pizzas with leftovers! We each got to build our own with bunches of whatever was left in the fridge!

  • Tom: pulled pork, fried onions, fried jalapeño, bbq sauce, mozzarella
  • Owen: pizza sauce, spaghetti and meatballs, pulled pork, bratwurst, cheddar cheese
  • Jen: mozzarella cheese, fried onions, fried jalapeño, bbq sauce, cheddar cheese
  • Katie: bratwurst, pulled pork, cheddar cheese

They were delicious. But more importantly, Katie willingly ate meat! She finished the whole thing!

A SURPRISE SEMINAR YEAR SUCCESS STORY

I know it’s long. Stay with me.

So as I’ve mentioned, I do my SeneVersary party months as a celebration of another year in the business but also as a huge thank you to everyone for supporting me—I couldn’t do it without you!

Never did I imagine the impact this business would have on me. It’s not even the extra money so much as the newfound friends, additional self confidence, improving makeup skills, learning to go outside my box…and even moreso now…allowing me to work from home!

I want to publicly thank my friends and family for your orders (and loyal REorders!) of AMAZING products, to the ladies always wanting to try something new, and especially to the few who have also found a love for this sustainable home-based business that we get to work on our own schedule.

So I wanted to share something with you that I learned tonight.

Had I planned to attend seminar (this weekend, cancelled), I would have been up on stage receiving an award from the CEO of our company. What the what?! Yep, I technically fall under her so in her dominion, I would have been one of the top 15!

I edited to make my own certificate!

Now, to be perfectly clear, this is not the top 15 of the whole company. This would be more like…a grade out of a whole school district. There are many grades and classes, each with a leader and a bunch of people in them. And in her grade of, say, 500 people, I am in the top 15. So it’s still something good but it’s not like I’m in the top 15 of the entire school district of 10,000. (We just had our annual awards ceremony and there are so many people doing so many amazing things with huge teams and multi millions dollars worth of sales that my achievement seems quite piddly in comparison. But it is still something noteworthy.)

So you guys, this just completely blows my mind. And I wasn’t going to go to seminar because it cost a few hundred dollars and is way outside my box and I hate huge groups of people and I keep thinking this is just a little side thing and I don’t have a huge team and I really don’t do THAT much business… But apparently I do enough to earn a top spot?! Again, mind blown.

And I could have had this one as a company-wide thing…had I ponied up the cash to go. I guess I’ll be happy knowing I could have gotten a piece of paper. But seriously, it’s actually a pretty big deal and I’m kinda bummed you only get the award if you were going to attend.

This pandemic is a lot like bringing home a new baby.

https://www.scarymommy.com/just-survive-somehow-quarantine/

She’s right. This pandemic is a lot like bringing home a new baby.

I realize I have it easier than a lot of people so I am not complaining, but I don’t have time to paint my bedroom or organize the pantry or read a shelf of books. I am busy all day long and at the end of the day I legit have no idea what I’ve been doing, but I do know I only crossed off a few things on my ever-growing to-do list. It’s infuriating. So while this isn’t the absolute worst thing that can happen, it certainly isn’t idyllic. And it isn’t that much fun. And my kids certainly aren’t getting a freaking adventure.
