Yeah, I don’t know, either. That’s a 6yo boy for you. 🙂
I bought these new footie PJs at Target today (and actually washed them!) so he found them when he got home. I wish you could see the hoodie—it’s got Dino spikes on it! Anyhoo, he put it on and I think daddy or Uncle Rob called him a gecko and then Owen came up with the super gecko muscles bit.
I DID IT! My first big goal—100 pounds—is complete! After “restarting” the program after not losing anything over the holidays, I busted my butt and lost 6.6# this past week and this happened at today’s weigh-in!
I really wanted to make my goal by the end of the year, and I think this is pretty damn close! And since I’m technically still Obese, now it’s time for the next 30-40!!!
The dealership has been a comedy of errors trying to get our van fixed. So, we still have the rental Highlander.
And we didn’t even think when grabbing a 5′ plastic storage bin at Walmart…yeah…no room in the car! Well, no easy room. This is how we had to get it home.
For my last throwback of the year…they aren’t the best Before & After photos, but they are beginning to end: On the lefts, January 2015; on the rights, December 2015…almost 100# lighter. Bring on 2016!
We went to our friends’ house for dinner and a football game. The kids watched an early NYE countdown and had some sparkling grape juice (which none of them liked).
My restart is going very well. My fluff is long gone and I’m at about 4# so far this week (of course, some of that may be daily fluctuation).
This is how getting dressed went this morning.
Put bra on. Dang, it’s really too loose, but it still works fine.
Put undies on. Dang, these are getting REALLY too loose, but they still work fine. (These are the same undies I was wearing 100# ago.)
Put jeans on. Whoa. They’re really too big. (They’re 18s.) In the pile they go.
Change my mind and put on a stretchy skirt/leggings combo.
Put on a sweater. Too big. I’ve been keeping it because it’s comfy but…it’s also very shapeless and not flattering at all. In the pile it goes.
Put on a favorite shirt that I know has been a little big but still looks okay. Nope, feels too big. In the pile.
Put on another favorite shirt that I know has been a little big but still looks okay. GRRR. Yep, it’s really too big. But I’ll keep it for now.
Funny how when I was bigger, I really liked loose-fitting clothes and that’s all I wanted. Now, if it doesn’t fit me PERFECTLY I don’t want it. Like the 18 jeans? They’re still definitely wearable with a belt, but why would I wear those when I have 16s that fit better? I hate wasting the money (I wore that $40 pair of jeans maybe two months at most) so that just irks me, but…why complain about needing a smaller size?
Costcos in Virginia (and North Carolina) can’t sell liquor (which you may or may not remember) so we’ve stopped at Costcos in other states (Florida, South Carolina, and Michigan) to replenish our stock. But, we learned that the DC Costco (in Maryland) does have liquor, and today was the first chance we’ve really had to stop (it’s really out of the way and quite inconvenient to get to).
This is a normal replenishment trip, which happens maybe every two years (which is good, because that’s about how long all this lasts…though honestly it’s longer unless we have a few parties).
I completely spaced on it being school break time (duh, that’s why Owen was able to go!) and the aquarium was a nightmare. I have never seen that many people there…and we skipped about 70% of the stuff because we didn’t want to wait or push through the hordes to get to the displays. Ugh. We’ve been super spoiled the past few times we’ve gone and it was (for all purposes) empty.
On the escalator to another level.
Another escalator!
The frog displays were very busy. I didn’t get many pics.
Trying for a desktop wallpaper.
And one my favorites…jellyfish!
More attempts at computer wallpaper!
We had planned on having lunch beforehand at our favorite, Capital Grille, except we were there too early and they weren’t open…so we planned to do it after. But…as we were walking through the last part of the aquarium, we looked out across the water and saw Family Meal, a Bryan Voltaggio (Top Chef contestant) restaurant. I actually remembered I had a coupon for there, so we decided to try it.
We started with chicken pot pie fritters (delish!), Tom ordered biscuits and gravy (I might have been tempted except it came with over easy eggs on it which didn’t sound good to me), Rob got meatloaf, and I ordered fried chicken and this is the dish it came in. 🙂 It was yummy but a little expensive for what it was…but I’m glad we went.
