Let me bite your face off!

Look for the sunspots.
Or maybe between the couch and the ottoman.
Or here…
And Katie’s first words were “It smells like Gramma Jean’s!”
And then she drew this while Tom and I were shopping.
TIP OF THE YEAR: Avoid Chicago on September 15-16.
Tonight we got stuck in Chicago trying to get out of town after the show (it took an hour to go like four blocks).
Turns out it was the start of Mexican independence day (it’s actually 9/16 but the celebrating starts the day before) and the traffic was freaking insane!
Apparently the thing to do is drive around with passengers hanging outside the car (through the window or sunroof or both), honk your horn like a madman while waving huge flags, and cause traffic jams. And there’s lots of cops out…not doing anything.
Consider yourself warned.
Cheri and Charlie invited us to see Nikki Glaser: The Good Girl Tour in Chicago (we love Vettix)! It was a good time (minus the opening act, which didn’t seem a good fit for a comedian… but it was Nikki’s BFF so that explains a lot) and we had a great dinner beforehand at Catch 35.
Y’all. If you haven’t tried these automatic Glade room spray air fresheners… Go do it now. I love them.
They have a variety of scents and right now we’re into the fall ones…so give me all the apple and spiced pumpkin.
Do you use anything to scent your house?
It was hard waiting for the results of tryouts to be posted tonight…but she made it! She will now have practice after school three days a week and she’ll be cheering for basketball games! We are so proud of her for deciding to do this—we know it was scary!
She seemed to enjoy it. I think we could have tried a little harder to find a more expensive thing—but at least it’s 2 minutes from home!
Sidenote: I’m thoroughly enjoying watching her take direction from someone without her losing her mind and/or giving up when something is hard.
Subtitled: The things we do for our kids….
We arrived early and stayed for an entire football game just to see him perform for 3 minutes at halftime.
I was born and raised in Michigan…so when we moved away after college and Tom joined the Marines, I was all about the Michigan items. Birch trees, Petoskey stones, the Great Lakes, etc. And I accumulated a bunch of things over the years.
This is just one necklace I have (I also have it in silver). It’s just a small reminder of where I began and met my husband…and where most of my family still lives! And I just happen to think Michigan is the coolest-shaped state!
SeneGence smudge-proof and anti-aging makeup!
I mistakenly left some products on the floor inside of a box and these damn dogs got into it and chewed it all up out of the backyard.
And then naptime.
Olive will be sitting in my lap and Ivy has to come bounding up to get closer to me.
And then it’s naptime where of course they have to be touching.
This was in the cheese drawer. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
A few days late but better late than never!
