More trying house issues.

  • No hand towel hooks in the MBA.
  • No drawers in the MBA vanity.
  • No hand towel hooks in kids bath.
  • Kids bath tub doesn’t drain for shit. (Which reminds me we need to check our tub.)
  • Kids tub faucet is all or nothing—no way to get drizzle of warm water. A drizzle is cold. Full force only for warm.
  • Half the outlets in the house are loose and plugs barely stay in (how does that even happen?).

  • Wood railings outside are dangerously loose.
  • The last step is too high off the ground.
  • MBR has double entry doors but one of the two locking mechanisms on the secondary door is broken and the other is missing completely.
  • 20140706-215617-78977128.jpg

  • There’s no key for the garage/kitchen door.
  • When Tom went to change the burnt out shower light, the ring fell off in his hands—it was broken but just perched precariously.
  • Sigh.

I just keep reminding myself that none of this stuff is a deal-breaker and can be fixed. It’s just the growing pains of a new house. And it will get better. 🙂

    1. The loose outlets definitely need to be replaced. As they age metal fatigue can loosen the grip of the connectors inside, and cause loose plugs. Sometimes just one plug is loose and that is the fault of the plug, but what you are showing is a problem with the outlets. It isn’t safe, so definitely bump that up on the repair list.

But, yep, it will get better, but you’ll be plenty annoyed for a while. Moving is hard.
