So after my day starting at 2:30am, I was in bed at 8 while Tom was putting Owen to bed. Turns out he went down about 8:15, had a brief fit about 8:30-9 (due to a burp that didn’t come out previously), and then slept until about 3:30!! Then he went back down about 4:15 and slept until 6:15—at which point he was just chattering away in his crib so I got up to pump so I could give him a bottle, but he was out again before I was done! He slept another half hour after that. I feel amazingly awake today, but still with an undercurrent of exhaustion. 🙂
So, whether the good night was due to him not really napping or the fact that he got some fresh air (we went for a walk around the park)…I’ll take it!
Fresh air can certainly help! Are you swaddling?
Nope, we haven’t swaddled since you’ve been here. While for the most part I think it’s okay…we think it’s harder for him to go down. Now, as soon as we put him down, his arms shoot up and he flails around. I think when he was wrapped, he couldn’t tell as much that we were letting him go and setting him down.
Gee, this is a long response. I should probably post it on its own. 🙂
He’ll get used to it I’m sure. Don’t do it for ME, do it for you, Tom and Owen! Whichever way works better is the way to do it.
