Munising Vacation

July 2004

Who would have guessed we'd be facing a cold rainy week during our July vacation? So much for bringing TWO swimsuits! But the high of 52 was especially refreshing knowing it was 100+ and humid back home in North Carolina! That said, you'll never hear me complain about having a fire in the fireplace ANY time of year, that's for sure...

As usual, we shared many laughs and stories...and this year games of poker and travel Yahtzee (instead of croquet and Pass the Pigs)--and, as usual, the time passed too quickly (is there ever enough?). But we made the most of every minute (yes, naps included!) and especially enjoyed time with our two neices, Ellie & Izzy, who are growing up way too fast.

The time we spent here was so incredibly and wonderfully relaxing. We cherish any opportunity to spend any amount of time with our far-flung families, and are extremely grateful we had such lovely surroundings in which to do so. Our only regret is that we missed Jim and Beth--our paths crossed a hair too late.

Now, this journal entry wouldn't be complete without a mention of Chicken Poop Bingo. (The things yoopers will do for entertainment, I swear.) I didn't attend the festivities (although Marie swore it was the one thing a person had to do), but I just wanted to say maybe next year, Marie...maybe next year.
