Honeymoon
September 28, 2005 - October 10, 2005
FINALLY! Our long-awaited and much-anticipated honeymoon! Only four years after the fact! We cruised the Eastern Caribbean on Holland America's great ship Zuiderdam (pronounced ZY-DER-DAM) from Ft. Lauderdale, with the following schedule:
Day 1: Ft. Lauderdale
Day 2: Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (HAL's Private Island)
Day 3: At Sea
Day 4: Road Town, Tortola, B.V.I. - Dolphin Swim
Day 5: Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Day 6: At Sea
Day 7: Nassau, Bahamas
Bookends: Boca Raton
Our biggest splurge (among many, we discovered!) was to reserve a 249 square foot Deluxe Verandah Outside Stateroom (complete with queen-size bed [oops! I thought it was king-sized! -jen], bath & shower, sitting area, private verandah, floor-to-ceiling windows--and they didn't even mention the loads of closet space!). Now that we've had this, we're spoiled and don't ever want to cruise without a balcony!!

We had a GREAT time--very relaxing and enjoyable. The only bad point was the weather (it rained in every port and the seas were a little rough at times), but the good points DEFINITELY outweighed the bad (the food and service were UNPARALLELED)! We loved cruising and can't wait to do it again!
