Baseball morning!

We had an away game which means we’d be gone for like 4 hours so we took Olive to Anna’s so she could play with Honey. She always ends up in the front seat.

I haven’t posted much about baseball this fall season… Tom is coaching again. They’re about 50-50 for wins and lossses. Owen isn’t pitching but it still liking first base…and has been catching more!

It was a wee bit chilly. Katie even stayed in the car!

Olives first (and last) baseball game

I thought we’d try taking Olive to the baseball game so she didn’t have to stay cooped up—plus it was nice weather and Katie promised to take care of her.

Ha. Haha.

I mean overall she was good, but she went crazy if dogs came near her. And Katie quit about 45 minutes in. So this might be the heat time we take her…

Finally tuckered out right as the game was ending. Of course.

Grandparent Camp 2022

Down at City Park in the river. It was COLD!
Looking for petoskey stones.
Goggles helped find them!
Swimming at Higgins Lake North State Park.
First ones there and last ones to leave! Five hours.
Owen now knows how to ride and mow the lawn!
Painting rocks on a rainy day!
A little laundry to do on their last day.
Our pit stop at the Big Mac.
Now it’s Granny Lin’s turn!

Olive came to baseball!

Katie desperately wanted to bring Olive to the baseball game…so we let her.

And then look who ended up being Olive’s bed for most of the game?

And I’m so bummed—look what I noticed!! Olive is losing her olive on her paw.

Remember this is what it used to look like:

And then since she was with us, we had to find an outdoor patio to eat lunch after baseball… She was such a good girl!

Middle school band competition!

Typically this would be in person but Zoom is still the way of life for a lot of events. So we were all on the stage in the Cafe watching while the kids played in front of the judges on a huge screen!

Grandma and grandpa and the Chang-Yens were able to be there so Owen was excited about that!

Stealing a friend’s photo of the entire band because I wasn’t patient enough to wait for everyone to get out of my way.

I feel so slow and plodding…

I did not want to go outside. It was gray and windy and 25° and my feet hurt. But I made an effort. Not my best day but better than staying on the couch.

I keep wondering “Was I this slow way back when?” Because of course I can only remember the good times from when I was thin and speedy.

So I’m just telling myself I’m happy I’m out moving.

First Jazz band concert!

Tonight was the first time the middle school jazz band has been in person since before the Covid lockdown! They performed at the high school with their jazz bands (well, not WITH, but at the same event).

To be honest I wasn’t sure what to expect—especially when the band director said they’d only had 14 practices together. But they were actually quite good!

The first song they played!
